Hello everyone,
A week ago, I joined STM forum, and after reading good amount of post decided to run new campaign and start my follow along thread. First, few words about me...
I'm from Belarus, currently run small IT outsourcing business about 2 years already. We're building very popular WordPress plugin called PixelYourSite which allow easily manage Facebook Pixel. Few other major clients run very successful CPM businesses.
Funny thing, that I had experience in traffic arbitrage about 10 years ago. I'd not know English at all (not sure if I know it now, tbh), I'd not good internet connection, but what I remember, I was going to earn 1M in first year)) I did keyword research in AdWords, created campaign with most expensive of them, like "cosmetic dentistry in LA", created copy-pasted sites and placed AdSense units there. I remember clicks cost about $20-40))) Of course, I lost my capital, which was about $200-300, and forget about it. Can you imagine my face when I got payment check from Google for about $600! Average salary was here about $200-300/mo. It was 2007, I think I was able to run many successful campaigns, but I was stupid and fall in love with my ex-GF.
Anyway, back to nowadays, life is reminding me about AM again. My job, my previous and current clients, my friends. So, let's adventure begins!
I decided to run white hat campaigns on Facebook. Why white hat? Because few months ago I purchased AM course, and did everything like they said. I started "gray"-hat campaign and almost immediately got ban for one of my ad account. Tbh, I did not know that that offer was gray, because "couch" said it is absolutely good one. So, I quickly learned 2 things: their course is crap, and Facebook is very string about what you promote on it. I think better to start with white-hat because there are many things to learn and I don't want to worry about cloaking, pre landing pages, etc. or even worth - lost all my ad account.
I choose "Fly Bra" offer with 70% approve and $12.5 payout for confirmed lead. Geo is Thailand. I decided to run in 2-nd and 3-rd tier counties, because traffic there is cheaper and they not so familiar with popular offers like in Russia, where affiliate marketers are aggressive, as far I know. So, I created Facebook page, added avatar, cover image, link to site, few posts. Downloaded landing page made by affiliate network, fixed many issues and uploaded to own server. Configured conversions campaign with wide target: women, excl. Bangkok, and age 20-54. I know very primitive, but better to do something
Added 4 ad sets with 1 different ad per each ad set, set $10 limit per ad set. Run campaign at last Friday at evening, received about 30 clicks, decided to leave campaign active and receive more clicks. I was checking campaign few times each day but there was not more clicks for some reason... I was surprised at Monday that my Page was unpublished and that is why I stop received new impressions of my ads. Page was unpublished because of "It looks like recent activity on your Page doesn't follow the Facebook Pages Terms". Wtf... page looks good, nothing aggressive, no before/after or doctors, etc.. I created new one, with different content, published it and... same issue! No ideas why.
So, dear STM members, I'll appreciate any advices regarding my adventure
Here few newbie questions:
1. Any ideas why my pages are being unpublished? I can share screenshots, but not sure, if it is allowed here.
2. What is offer testing strategy, in short? I see it next way: create campaign with 4-5 ad sets and 1 ad in each. Copy is same, landing page (you call it "landers" here, right?) is same, and offer is same. Set limit per each ad set and run campaign. Next day switch off ad sets with bad CTR, CPC and CV. Clone good ones and play with creative, target or copy. Repeat.
3. I subscribed to Charles Ngo mailing list and his advice do not jump between traffic sources, verticals, offers, etc. I'm agree with it, but I'm interesting how to be in my case: pushing this one offer only, or test one more in same time, but with same traffic source and vertical.
x. How is my English? Is it clear enough?
Thank you for reading this long story and thank you for all you assistance in advance!
P.S.: if some of you need PixelYourSite PRO license, just PM me and I'll ask product owner for discount code.
Welcome on here and I applaud your positive spirit.
To your points, a page can be unpublished for several reasons. In your case it sounds like Facebook bot doing this automatically after you've started running traffic. Not uncommon esp with new pages. Are you directly linking to the landing page? How old is your domain? Does the page have javascripts?
Have you run traffic before on this account?
About ad strategies I'd say yeah 3+ duplicated adsets is a good way to get started.
@mihalis09 thank you for reply.
You do know you can have the page published again by going to settings right?
Or do you see a warning to appeal like this? https://i.imgur.com/zSJkIjZ.png
Here's what I suggest you do. Go to that page or the new page you create and publish a new random post. Just simple text and image. See if it is ghosted. If it still shows after you refresh the page, then make another post with your domain and a random image again. See again if it is ghosted. If it still shows, then Boost that post with a small budget, $2 or $3 per day. Do not create an ad from the dashboard, just Boost that post directly from the page. Your purpose is to get the domain "whitelisted" and the page warmed up at the moment. It is not to run ads. Keep the boosted post going for 2-3 days. Now run your WH campaign again
Yea, I got same warning message as on your screenshot. I'm allowed to add new posts, they do not disappear, but Boost option is not available as of page is unpublished by FB. So I created brand new page, added avatar, cover photo and random post with link to site in text. In other words, did exactly as you recommended. Start boosting and got post approve. Let's what will happen next.
Thank you for you advice, @mihalis09. Really appreciate it!
I think this offer is not considered WH honestly. It's very tricky to advertise with any health/body/nutra campaigns, even if the products are legit and really work!
Looks like my domain was flagged. I'd boosted neutral post within 3 days and got good engagement. Today I started adding ads one by one and all of them were declined. Btw, ads and copy are neutral. Have no idea what is wrong.
Today I decided start testing even more WH offer. Here is the plan:
1. Add neutral relavent post each day during 3 days;
2. On 4th, add post with site link;
3. 5th - neutral again and 6th- with link again;
4. Boost half of these posts during few days after publishing;
5. Instead of uploading landing pages, create "magazine"-like site with relevanted article and video.
I hope these steps will be good warmup before start campaigns.
