Joining a top tier affiliate networks

Hi, I want to promote products within a specific vertical but want to focus on name brand and higher quality products. To do so would require joining one of the top tier affiliate networks that require either a content rich website or a large social media following.

Could I make a wordpress site and fill it with content ripped from other blogs in my vertical, make it look pretty, then join a top tier affiliate network? How strict are their standards for people who are new to the industry?

Thanks,
RJ

You could ofcourse (I wouldn't recommend tho'), but you won't have any traffic still ofcourse. That's what they looking for. Try to find other networks with the same verticals but with a less strict policy.

What vertical you are looking for? Maybe some here know suitable networks.

Try Advidi, Oasis Ads, Adcombo, ACnutryst, Clickbank maybe? I am not so into beauty/nutra stuff but I remember these guys having suitable offers! Not sure if they meet your expectations ofcourse...

Misleading affiliate networks is the sure way to build a counter-productive relationship with them.

If you have legit ways of getting traffic, almost all networks will listen to you. If you want to get in with a fake website because you will send fraud traffic anyway, that's really a bad idea. It sounds harsh but that's what your question makes me think of.

Now, if you are just worried about getting approved because you don't have a huge amount of experience and a great reputation in the industry already, you can ask networks that have an STM Forum account and you can go meet them in person at Affiliate World Europe.

Approval is very often based on reputation and references, and a quick few days of networking in person changes everything, no matter how new to the industry you might be.

Thanks for the response. I was looking at networks like Viglink, share a sale, CJ affiliate, and flex offers. When I called them it sounded like they wanted a content site. So do you think if I do business on some of the smaller affiliate sites the top tier sites would take me even without a website/social media following?

It depends. Our main question is "How are you planning on promoting our product?". We work with a lot of agencies or workshops that have low traffic to their site, but they do offline events and promote us there. If you have a plan, usually an affiliate manager will be interested.

But tricking isn't a good idea. There are tools (like SEMrush, SimilarWeb) where we can pull your estimated traffic and will know that you don't get a lot of traffic even if you have lots of content. Honesty is the best policy!

I've been approved for Share A Sale and don't have any content site or social media following, so must be.

I think if you do media buying that fits their quality standards, you should be able to get approved too.

Past results also help. Like I said, reputation and references. It's super unlikely an affiliate network doesn't want you then.
