I just tried installing the Lead Impact software on a cheapo hosted Windows VPS, twice (ClickPotato/VooMuu and FreezeFrog), and though the software installed, I didn't see any pops for the heavily bidded-on sites. The server is in the US, running Windows Server 2003. There doesn't seem to be any security software on the VPS.
I'm wondering if LI put something in there so it can't be run from a server anymore?
Yes I have installed the software on a windows 2003 vps and get pops just fine.
However you have to reboot the server and wait a day or two ( or just change the date / time of the server ).
Aha i installed several toolbars before like hotbar and gamevance before on my computer and they work just fine.
But i never knew about the change the date / time thing , You're Sneaky

Thanks for the tip
I managed to install it on my VPS, but the software can't connect to the internet (the included hotbar weather application can't connect so I assume that's the same for the adware portion).
What do I tell the web host? Is there a particular port that the thing uses that's getting blocked? How can I tell how it's supposed to connect to the internet?
no it doesn't connect here also and i get tons of pops from li so probably you gotta wait a little and you'll get some pops soon.
if didn't work try edit computer country to USA.
if didn't work try edit computer country to USA. -->what do you mean? The server is in the US.
I just installed hotbar on my netbook and the ads started immediately.
Can someone give any advice on remotely connecting to your VPS?
My VPS package says "no root SSH access".
So I'm not sure if this means its not possible at all, or if there is another way. (Ive heard something about connecting via telnet)
Figured this should go here, as were already on the topic anyway.
I've got a sandboxed VMWare XP box that I just load up with that loads of malware/adware, pops galore!
This is the error that i get when i try that.
