HELP: My campaigns have too low CTRs and too high CPCs

Hey everyone,

Last week I went online with my first Facebook campaigns promoting coupon codes and discounted products and services of different advertisers. I mostly focused on retargeting and interest based targeting and I believe that my audiences were good enough since the clickout rates (website checkouts initiated) were okay. The issue is that my CTRs are very low and the CPCs are too high for the campaigns to be profitable. Furthermore, the ad relevance was very low, between 2 and 5. So I believe that the main issue here is the ads.

Here is a screenshot of my campaign overview:

Do you have some suggestions for me what I could improve? I was thinking of adding a cpc bid cap but that won't help with the low CTRs and low ad relevance.

I appreciate your criticism and advice!

Best regards!

The first thing that stands out is your extremely high frequency, that should explain your high CPC for the most part.

What is your audience size and how much/how long have you been hammering them with the same ad(s)?

If you run a Sarenza couponcode campaign, only target Sarenza likers (no similar brands) and test 9/12 images. This way you filter best images and find/launch similar ones to test aside. If you target broader from start you don't know if it's targeting or bad ads.

From first sight your images don't stand out enough on timeline and your text are a bit weak honestly.
