Facebook Pages

I have a question about running Facebook ads. What kind of pages do you use for them?

Is the name relevant to the product? If so, do you create a new page for each offer you promote?
How many likes does the page have? Is it important?

Thanks for the help

The quality of the page/its engagement is certainly a factor for FB ads.

The more engaging the content you post, the better reach you get from Facebook's algo usually. The reverse is also true - if you have poor customer experience, Facebook goes all the way to warn you directly that your reach is limited until your feedback makes a turn for the better. Unfortunately I couldn't find a screenshot of that right now, but you will find it in most FB Ads groups.

What makes sense is to create a page that fits the vertical you are promoting. For example, pet lovers for all things pets, techie stuff for gadgets.

Not sure about the likes exactly, but more real likes means more organic reach

I create a page per campaign, unless I can use the brand in more countries, for example Tesco Shopping as a name would be suitable for both UK and IE for example. Like manu said, the more interaction on the page the better for your performance. BUT, it's not necessary! I often just create the page and only upload a profile photo and start running ads with it.

The more convincing and trustworthy the page name is, the quicker consumers will click. This means better CTR and low cost per click or view!

Thanks both, really appreciate the advice here. One final question - do you use the brand logo on the FB page? For example you mentioned Tesco, say you created a page that included 'Tesco' in the name, would you then use their logo on the profile picture?

Thanks!

I can only talk for different kind of offers - e-commerce. No. All products that have affiliate programs explicitly say you are not allowed to create branded pages or bid on brand keywords. That is if they are a real brand like KeySmart, TrackR, etc.

So the Facebook page ends up being something a broader, that covers the whole niche of the products. And that means using the same page to promote several related products.

I assume this can be different if you don't run white hat.

Well ofcourse it's not allowed regarding Tesco, so be careful! I often use a photo of the logo somewhere made at a supermarket. You won't get banned immediately (from my experience tho'), they just remove the page and you have to start over again. If you have multiple times a page removed it could be that FB is taking measures, disable making new pages for example or a ban.

Yep, they usually block you from making a new page for a week, then maybe again for another week, and then for a month or indefinitely. It is extremely hard to come back from that so your facebook along with any active ad accounts you may have could be useless so it is actually quite important to "take care" of the pages you make.
