Facebook wants to send me a sms with a 6 digit code to the phone number I used to confirm
the profile.
The phone number I used for varification doesn't work in the country I am at the moment.
I could send the Sim card via post to friend in that country but I'm wondering if there's an easier and faster way to bypass the security check.

I don't think it's possible, 'cause FB doesn't give a chance to change it or use recovery email/phone, to the best of my knowledge. Every time I get this while promoting some of adcombo's offers I gotta set up a new account, haven't found a way around it yet.
Though this same phone number can be used to also confirm a gmail account, for example.
You can contact facebook and explain the situation but they probably ask for your ID
Put out a fiverrr post with a request if some local can confirm a phone number for 5 bucks.
Send them your ID
a good idea would be contacting Facebook and explain your problem.
