Has anyone ever tried targeting the female audience for adult dating sites? How does it even work? I have no clue how to do this
That sounds like packaging air and trying to sell it in Vienna.
How did this come to your mind? Have an offer that requires female only sign ups?

Yes my AM has offered me a 3 times bigger commission for any female sign up...I told him I have no idea how to do this...but then you guys came up to my mind so I decided to ask you

Honestly, given the ratio I've heard when it comes to such websites, 3x payout sounds low. The split is like 90/10 or more in favour of men, right? So you should get 9x payout? Hahaha.
What I'd suggest is digging into websites like Seeking Arrangement, and if the ratio of men and women is better there, try figure out if you can fit their angle(s) to the offer you have at your disposal. Perhaps Reddit can also be a source of inspiration for angles that appeal more to women?
Dating sites have been paying more for female users for a long time, cause that's what they miss the most
Targeting such users is a problem though. There are basically two options here:
1. banners with male models and adcopy that focuses on females.
2. targeting categories or niches that are most popular with females... lesbians, softcore, female domination etc ...
There will still be a TON of man eyeballs on your banners, but the higher payout might take care of this problem.
From my experience, you will see 10-15% of adult traffic as females, some sites a slightly higher percentage.
One way to increase your odds of getting a stronger % of female traffic and better chance at making an offer like that work is to research the pornhub end of year reviews. They give a tremendous amount of data about top categories and other insights, use category or keyword targeting to give yourself a better chance of targeting more women (but expect a high percentage of males no matter what you do) but it could be enough to make the offer work for you.
One other idea that may help out in this scenario, you can buy alot of iOS traffic at very reasonable rates. So combine iOS and category/keyword targeting and it may be a strong enough combo of cost savings + higher female audience to make it work. Never tried so can't tell ya for sure.
Simply do a Google search for the EOY reviews by pornhub.
I would suggest not wasting much time on this if you can't get reasonable results quickly.
