I've used trackers for Adult/Pop traffic in the past which helps to optimise traffic and test creatives.
On the Facebook side, I've been seeing less and less benefits in using a tracker. Maybe I'm missing something, hopefully someone who uses a tracker on Facebook regularly can shed some light.
Here are some of the things I've had experience with on Facebook with a tracker:
- Pass ad/adset/campaign data to tracker to match with conversion data.
- Rotate landers and offers. Which I now just use a basic script.
- I haven't done geo, mobile callouts on FB. Have done it on other traffic sources.
- In terms of mobile/useragent/carrier detection. Facebook has limited options on those. Would be interested to explore.
- Gathered data and split tested landers. But on FB, I feel it doesn't really correspond to conversions. I had a 20% LPCTR lander which converted like crap.
- Tracked Revenue/AdSpend on Tracker with offers that don't provide Pixel install on thank you page.
Well, can you do things like that

without a tracker?
thanks for the inf...
