we are just working on this in the background and the report should be ready within a week, I hope 
None of us wanted to let this tradition die and since Caurmen is no longer with us, we (Amy and myself, Amy from a much bigger part) started to work on it. Our version will be a bit different ... stay tuned.
I''ve chipped in my thoughts on this too to the team so I can share my opinion on 2018 briefly.
In one word: Facebook. I was almost certain before the Cambridge Analytica scandal but even after, it seems the developments won't have major negative impact during 2018. You do have to be somewhat careful if you target EU member states citizens for leadgen - gotta make yourself familiar with GDPR.
In general though, I'd recommend looking more into ways to reach the same audience without paying over and over again. Messenger bots and push notification lists are both creative ways to do that, plus the classic email list.
I'm super-excited about this report we're putting together! Everyone will love it - I promise!
We've contacted many, many affiliates, affiliate networks, traffic networks, and even spy tool owners, to ask the very question in the title of this thread.
We received over 50 answers back. The report is well over 100 pages long, jammed pack with gold.
Matuloo has just written a summary for it too, to give an overview of the valuable insights from everyone that contributed.
