Affiliate Program Apps for Shopify (5)

I have a friend who is the owner of a dog leash/collar company - lifestyle type brand. The e-commerce store of his site is running on Shopify. He has approached me about showing him how to use AdWords, even though I'm a beginner (3 months) myself. I would rather pitch him on becoming an affiliate for his brand and getting paid out a defined $$$ payout (based on average sale) or % amount per sale I drive.

Question 1:
Does anyone have experience with or can recommend a Shopify app that allows a store owner to easily set-up an affiliate program? Was curious if anyone had first hand knowledge with this as a store owner or as an affiliate of a store. I have seen the following:

OmniStar
Affiliatly
Lead Dyno
Refersion

Question 2:
Would it be better to be paid a defined flat payout or a percentage of sale? I'm good friends with him and want fair for both of us. I respect this brand that he built but feel he is only realizing a small portion of potential sales as he is not doing any online marketing besides social.

1 - build a unique URL for each affilaite campaign here: https://ga-dev-tools.appspot.com/campaign-url-builder/

2 - implement google ecommerce tracking and you'll be able to see all the impressions, clicks, conversions, spend, etc. for each of the links build in step 1 right in your google analytics account. However, I'm looking for a platform that offers the owner of the site/company simple payout solutions, customization of offers, affiliate dashboard etc. I'm good friends with this person and would not want to jeopardize our friendship over stupid business stuff like missed payouts. Having transparency and automation with a platform would prevent any weird grey areas.

Zero experience, but found this just the other day. www.shoutout.global. 20 bucks a month, but it works as a complete affiliate solution with custom affiliate dashboard included.

We use Refersion for ours. The interface is a little clunky, but it gets the job done pretty well and we get a decent amount of signups from their marketplace.
