🌞 N00bie Solar Campaign 🌞

Welcome, thanks for stopping by to read. Any feedback is most welcome (and encouraged, thanks in advance).

I am Michael, this is my 3rd post on STM! This is my first campaign. I am going for solar leads.

I am taking a course by John Crestani. (super affiliate system). The course features Ronnie Sandlin, and for some reason I latched onto Ronnie's business model: setup an advertorial and run traffic on facebook.

So far I have setup a website: affordablesolaract.org
And have begun running an engagement campaign in facebook to my solar page: 'I Support Affordable Solar'

The main concern I have is copyright. My posts in the website affordablesolaract.org are almost 100% from enerysage.com but I have altered a word here and there. These posts will be filler, mainly traffic will run to the advertorial I write so maybe I am just too concerned?

Also I am running facebook engagement to videos that are also ripped from youtube (I changed them a little, cut here and there, added text to some). Again, not too sure how concerned I should be about copyright.

Here are the engagement ads I am running, the audience is targeted to homeowners and the states that have payout and 26 years and older

Here is my website:
affordablesolaract.org

Here is my facebook page (no need to like it, it will skew the data)
https://www.facebook.com/I-Support-A...0560279528300/

Goals for the upcoming week

1. One post a day in the facebook page. Try to make it like a meme or a cool entertaining video.
2. Continue to run $15 a day on engagement campaign until $100.
3. Learn how to find the people that liked the page from the engagement campaign, and create a look-alike list.
4. Insert pixel on my advertorial, landing page, and thank you page of the offer.
5. Get Voluum hooked up to the whole deal.

Week 2

1. run traffic to the advertorial - $10/day at first then scale as necessary.

Thanks for taking the time to read this. Any feedback is most welcome.

Best,
Michael

Great start! I'm moving this to the FB forum section for more eyeballs.

Update: April 17, 2018

I ran my engagement campaign to $78 and got ~500 likes. I tried a few different audiences:

1. Broad audience in US states that have payout for solar - homeowners, 26+, like 'solar panel', 'solar energy'
2. More narrow audience in US - states with payout, homeowners, 26+, like 'solar panel, solar energy' AND like pages that I found from audience insights. This ad set did slightly better.
3. Most targeted to California - the course I am taking suggested target california so I did - this list is homeowners, 26+, and like 'solar panel' and 'solar energy'
Here is a pic of my engagement campaign: https://imgur.com/PO5X7DH

Now I am running traffic to my ads while still doing 1 post a day on my page.

No conversions yet. I have 2 campaigns:

1. Targeted for 'view content' with look alike audience created from my facebook page likes. Used different % for look-alike audience. https://imgur.com/6BUdHse
2. Targeted for 'lead'. This was the second campaign I made after I had 200 page views. I used my pageview pixel to make 3 audiences https://imgur.com/Ud9IPs8

Facebook is not approving my ads that run through Voluum. All I am changing is the link that the facebook ads run through (run through Voluum rather than direct to my advertorial). I am guessing its due to the dedicated domain I am using on voluum so I will try to use the website I am sending traffic to as the dedicated domain. (i.e. I was using track.marketwatch.club as the dedicated domain, that is not linked to my advertorial. My advertorial is affordablesolaract.org so I will try using track.affordablesolaract.org as the dedicated domain.)

Learnings
1. Silly little meme pictures like ones with a cat saying 'I should invest in solar' get a lot of likes
2. I learned how to make look-alike audiences
3. I learned how to put the pixel on my page and how to use that pixel to create look alike audiences.
4. I learned how to get voluum to track my campaign but am still struggling to get ads approved by facebook that run through my tracking link.

Commitments for the upcoming week
1. Continue to run ~$15/day on facebook until I get 50 people hitting my landing page
2. Create 3 look-alike lists of people hitting my lander (1%, 2-5%, 10%)
3. Run traffic on my pageview pixel and lander pixel audiences (split ad spend between 2 campaigns)
4. Learn more about facebook traffic. (what is the difference between 'link click' and 'button click' and 'view content'?)

Next next weeks commitments
1. Keep going, Im not sure how much $$ I am willing to commit before I quit or at least try to use the data for loans or something else. I WILL NEVER QUIT UNTIL I AM PROFITABLE

Update: April 19, 2018

Got my first conversion this morning. The Pageview pixel is really cranking out some advertorial clicks. Still at just one conversion.

Any updates?

What's the payout on the offer?
