Campaign Creation Flow Chart

Hello Everyone,

Here's to my very first post and hopefully many more to come!

I joined STM a couple weeks ago after a good friend pointed me in the right direction and I've been reading TONS of great content since then. All in all I've very new to this and thus wanted to get some feedback on the below flow chart I created (while sitting at my current, post college desk job). I enjoy my current job but i'm looking for a new way to diversify my income and something to start on my own.

My goal for the post:

  1. Obtain feedback - from a macro perspective, am I understanding this correctly?
  2. Is there anything missing or anything that should be added/adjusted?
  3. Create a meaningful first post and potentially help other newbies with their understanding!

Thanks in advance everyone!

Very nice!

Which software did you use? Looks great!

I think this flowchart can really help newbies visualize how tracking works!

One question: What did you mean by "Multiple campaigns may be necessary"?

Good job and thanks so much for sharing!

Thanks Amy, your content on STM has helped me in so many ways!

I actually just used Excel to build this.

To answer your question, I'm not using Voluum just yet but from my understanding it could be necessary to create multiple campaigns in Voluum in order to avoid targeting an audience that is too broad. Also if I'm still testing landers and offers, I'll use up 2 of the available 3 slots.

Wow! You haven't even used Voluum!

I'm impressed - based on your level of understanding I would never have guessed.

And yes - I understand what you mean now. This is why, when I mass-test offers, I would often either target different OSs with different campaigns (e.g. one camp targeting Android and another camp targeting IOS and a third targeting windows phones), or target different carriers with different campaigns. This is because if I'm running multiple landers and offers like you've described, I won't be able to drill down further into OS AND carrier at the same time.

I can't believe someone who has never actually used voluum would think of that - you have superb analytical skills. I bet you'd be like a duck in water when it comes time to analyzing stats and such.

Just a word of warning though if I may: Try to always keep the 80/20 rule in mind. It's easy to get lost in optimizing the small stuff and overspending (time and money) to achieve a bit of extra accuracy - try to do a reality check on a regular basis to avoid going past the point of diminishing returns. I've seen lots of really smart people do that.

Again - thanks for the share!
