Hello guys,
I was wondering what kind of rules would you recommend or are using to detect bots or to optimize campaigns?
I do this manually now and more on the gut feeling whether this widget shows signs of success or not, or if it has spent too much and not given conversions or unusual percentage of clicks and so on.
Here's two which are active in my Optimizer right now -

@adig13 I am noticing that your rules execution frequency is every 1 hour. In order to fully leverage your automatic rules capabilities I would suggest switching your execution frequency up to every 10 minutes or 15 minutes.
Depending on how aggressive your creatives angle may be you can implement one of the following rules.
1. Block High CTR non-converting Widgets: IF Impressions > 7000 AND CTR > 5% AND Conversions < 1

2. Block Low Landing Page CTR non-converting Widgets: IF Clicks > 50 AND LP CTR < 10% AND Conversions < 1
Please note that this rule is a bit aggressive and would be better to implement it after your campaigns traffic has stabilized. Lets say you should be safe to implement it after your campaign has been running for at least 5-7 days

Furthermore, in case you have more than one campaign targeting the same geo and vertical, you can utilize Smart Lists to prevent multiple spent per widget on several campaigns.

Smart List Workflow:

Stage A: At least one rule is assigned to an active running campaign. These rules will individually block widgets on a campaign level only when triggering conditions are met.
Stage B: A Geo/Vertical specific list is created and assigned to multiple campaigns. This list automatically collects widgets blocked by auto-optimization rules we specify and use on these campaigns.
Stage C: The Smart List assigned on these campaigns will simultaneously update and feed these campaigns with the list of widgets that need to be blocked.
This way you will avoid spending multiple times for the same widget waiting to meet rule conditions to trigger a block action on several campaigns. Instead, you can test it on one campaign and pass it on the others to focus your spent on the ones that perform.
Hope this helps
@platinum Hi, we always have 2 tracker campaigns for each campaign we have with the traffic sources. Could we somehow consolidate the tracker's campaigns stats into one in TheOptimizer?
Our flow:
1 campaign on the traffic source but 2 campaigns on the tracker. ( would like to consolidate the 2 campaigns into one for the tracker campaign's stats )
Is this possible? Thanks!
