Feedback on my General Store.

Hey guys.

I'm new to the STM family and to E-commerce, marketing in general. so a couple of weeks ago I heard from a friend of mine about this thing called Dropshipping, and from what he described it was a Goldmine(He made a lot of money with his stores) but he kept his secrets and tricks to himself. so i followed some of his steps and other tutorials on the internet(Haven't read any posts about E-commerce on STM yet) and i created my first store. I added some products just to showcase.Guys, please give me feedback on the actual state of the store so i can change it for the better. Thanks.

OK - got your PM with the password. (May I suggest that you post your password here as well so other people could also take a look?)

I've taken a look at your store - it's far from finished. Basically only a few general products in each category - men's wear, women's wear, accessories, gifts. General products like these are difficult to sell, because there are a million other stores that are selling the exact same thing: clothing and accessories in general.

It's a very good first step though! Now that you know how to set up a store and add products to it - you need to go back and figure out exactly WHAT type of store and products can sell well. You need to do extensive research, and probably set up different stores, before finding a winner.

Most people that do ecommerce need to test lots of niches and products before finding a winner. The trick is figure out how to narrow down possibilities so you won't spend all your money testing and not finding winners (or finding too few of them).

So - please start reading. Caurmen's ecommerce cookbook would be a great start:

https://stmforum.com/forum/forumdisp...merce-Cookbook

These days though, just setting up a shopfiy store and running FB traffic to it is becoming more difficult due to 1)too many people trying to do the same thing, and 2)more and more of the general public now knows how to get stuff from sites like aliexpress for cheap - which leaves shop owners completely out of the loop.

Some of what you can add to your business model to crush your competition are: Sourcing your products directly from manufacturers + branding your products + building a customer base and selling similar products to them again and again to increase life-time value. I've seen good posts around the forums on this topic. If you're interested please let me know and I'll do some digging.

Please feel free to bounce ideas around. I'm not an expert in this area, but will bump your thread to get more eyeballs from people that ARE.
