The FB Explore feed about to get pulled ... finally :)

Last October I made a post here on STM, about the new "explore feed" that Facebook introduced in 6 countries, including mine. Original post here : https://stmforum.com/forum/showthrea...d-its-not-good

This change had very dramatic effect on the organic reach that FB pages would achive ... negative on of course.

Moreover, this change effectively turned the FB news feeds into nothing but Bday wishes, family photos and other crap that you simply cannot look at for too long. As a result, everyone who I talked to, started to spend less time on facebook ... and now obviouslly they finally noticed as the explore feed is about to become history and they won't spread it to more countries either ... hooray

The Explore Feed was a trial response to consistent feedback we received from people over the past year who said they want to see more from friends and family in News Feed. The idea was to create a version of Facebook with two different News Feeds: one as a dedicated place with posts from friends and family and another as a dedicated place for posts from Pages.

To understand if people might like two separate feeds, we started a test in October 2017 in six countries.

You gave us our answer: People don’t want two separate feeds. In surveys, people told us they were less satisfied with the posts they were seeing, and having two separate feeds didn’t actually help them connect more with friends and family.
Full press release here : https://newsroom.fb.com/news/2018/03...ore-feed-test/

Glad to see it ended this way, now we can get our organic reach back, I hope

Luckily I never got it

(I know SK was in the pool of their testing target, but as I not live there I was not affected (even while I visited SK for 1 month)

RIP Explore feed, haha.

It was pretty annoying to say the least, completely changed the whole FB experience ... and the level of negative reactions must have been huge, when they decided to pull it.
