Hello everyone!
I’m hoping some of you wouldn’t mind helping a newbie. Now I've been reading tutorials, but I just want to get off on the right foot with affiliate marketing and make sure that I'm starting off properly. Now let me say in advance that this is very basic stuff. I’m trying to get the simple basics down from getting an offer from an affiliate network to getting it running on a traffic source. I’ll show you guys what I’ve learned so far and please let me know what I’m doing wrong! Thanks for helping!
Ok, so I belong to the network “VY Media Group” and I simply asked my manager for the three top converting adult offers running U.S. traffic. He gave me the offers and asked for my

Ok, now I need to get a landing page so I went to pornhub and since this offer had the word “milf” in it I went under the “milf” category. I chose one and copied the entire url and pasted it into HTTrack. I then found the downloaded landing page under the “my websites” folder on my computer and saved it as a zip file. So, for my next step I uploaded the ripped landing page to my hosting. Now this next part I don’t feel too confident, but I clicked through the folders of the landing page until I found the html folder since I needed to change the affiliate link to my own. Here is the landing page right after I uploaded it. I see two outbound links with different url's. One at the top of the page and one at the very bottom but in three different places so I'm not sure which one is the previous affiliates, but I figured I need to replace all of them with my own so that is what I did:
Link from previous affiliate at the top:

A different link way at the bottom in three spots:

Here is the landing page now with the previous affiliates links replaced with my own:

Was that done correctly? Replacing all four links with my

I’m not sure how to utilize the tokens at this point. I noticed that when I choose a token the landing page no longer loads after the token is added to the url. So, no tokens have been added until I figure that part out!
So, with the landing page loaded onto my Voluum I now needed to ad the offer from VY Media:

Ok, I’m also at a loss when it comes to the tokens for the offer. Are there just a couple specific tokens I should choose every time? I need to read up more on tokens because I honestly don’t know what they are for..
Ok, so I then clicked on the “new campaign” tab in voluum and chose my traffic source (traffic junky), geo, I’m not sure what to choose for tracking the costs, and then chose the previous uploaded landing page and offer and hit the save button to get my campaign url.
So with my campaign url in tow I marched over to traffic junky to set up the offer. Here are the options I chose within Traffic Junky so please critique anything I’ve done. I’m targeting:
· Dating
· PC
· United States
· Frequency capping is set for 2 times every 24 hours
· For keywords I chose
· cougar
· mature
· milf
· mom
· stepmom
· wife
Are these keywords good? Too many or too few?
I then uploaded an ad that I copied from Pornhub and inserted my campaign url into the “target url” tab of Traffic Junky. For placements, I chose “Spankwire” in their video A and B spots. Is this enough for testing purposes?

I didn’t touch the bids setting. I’m assuming this is something you get into after you have found a profitable or almost profitable campaign. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

I then submitted everything to traffic junky for approval. Ok, so please please please offer any feedback and correct where I’ve gone wrong here. Thank you to everyone who is willing to help not just me but anybody else that may stumble upon this thread!!
Congratulations for taking action! It is a huge step figuring out all that!
This looks ok to me. Now you, I guess, running banner ads in traffic junky.
Run few different set of creatives to figure out the best one later on.
And yes I believe it is too early to get into bidding now.
Good luck!

First of all - thanks for providing so much information! The more info you provide, the easier it is to troubleshoot.
However, for future reference, please only capture the part of your screen that is relevant, instead of capturing the entire screen - it makes the text near-impossible to read, it's so small.
I use lightshot to capture screenshots, then I'd post them to imgur.com like you did (kudos for using that and not the default vbulletin attachment uploader!)
As for lander code: I suck at coding, plus the text is too small. Could you please start a separate thread with a title that asks for help with lander code, paste the lander code in pastebin or similar, and drop the link in the post? That way everyone would be able to read the code clearly and in its entirety.
I believe that one or more of the links you've replaced, you shouldn't have. Again, it would help to show the entire code. Actually, it would be better to show the original code and ask "which links should I replace"?
As for adding tokens after your lander url - this is only if you want to echo parameters on the landing page itself - for example call out the visitor's location, mobile device etc. E.g. "Dear Visitor from London, UK: Your iPhone 8 may be susceptible to viruses!" This post explains all about how to implement these:

As for your traffic source settings - I haven't run on TJ in almost 2 years so will refrain from giving outdated information. Matuloo's the expert on adult dating - I'll invite him over.

Thanks for the tips, Amy. I'll get started on your suggestions.
Hello,
I also think you replaced some links on the LP that will screw it up. There was a "json" and javascript link, probably some feature of the LP ... rotation of something maybe or they've been collection some info with it. With the more advanced LPs, you will have to consult a coder or get some to clean the code for you.
The "click" url should only be placed on the CTA links, so link's that are taking the visitor to the offer. I'd suggest to look at this more.
The postback also wont work in the form that is listed in the setup page, you need to replace the parts that say "REPLACE" and "OPTIONAL". I'm not sure what kind of backend solution VY Media Group uses ... cake and hasoffers are the most popular, but ask them to be sure.
@vortex has written a tutorial for both cake and hasoffers setups : https://stmforum.com/forum/showthrea...by-Step-Voluum
The actual campaign setup (offer, LP) in
NOW to the TJ setup :
I'm usually not using KW targeting, it diminishes the available volume, especially on the smaller spots ... spankwire is quite a low trafficked site. Frequency CAP is ok.
I'm not sure about the GEO ... US is themost competitive market in dating, it will be hard to see profits there without a SOLID paybump. It's good for testing in a way, as the traffic comes in huge volumes, but not sure if that's what you need now.
As for cost tracking ... you will have to use the CPC model, get some traffic, calculate how much you're actually paying per click and then use that value.
Bidding ... TJ shows you how much % a specific bid will get you, if you bid to low, you won't get any traffic. Try to stay in a position that gives you a decent % of the volume.
That's all for now,
will be watching this thread so let me know if you need more help.
Thanks to the both of you. I'm going to start a different thread with a new campaign targeting Finland using the suggestions you guys have provided. I'll run one camp in English and the other in Finnish and compare the two. Thanks again
