Question: Whitelist has no traffic

hey guys,

I was running a blacklist campaign and I have created a whitelist of 20 widgets that converted very well, they also have a high traffic. However, after I have created a whitelist campaign for those widgets, I got less than 5% of the traffic and no conversions.

TS: MGID

Has anyone faced this before?

Quite interesting for me to observe!

Cheers,
Zidan

Hey Zidan, you are not alone! This happens often with a lot of Native Traffic sources. I have gone through the exact same thing as you; make a whitelist of the best converting sources and suddenly traffic dies.
I believe that their traffic algorithm is not optimized for whitelist campaigns, specially when selecting only a few sources.
Also, all of my account managers suggest against making whitelist campaigns (including my manager from MGID). Maybe you can contact them to see what their explanation is?

hope this helps!

I don't have experience with native traffic, but was facing similar situations with pop traffic. From what I've learned in the forum here, traffic sources, like any other businesses, want to maximize their earnings. So if you whitelist placements, it is likely they will stop sending because of low volume. A common technique is to also enable placements that are breaking even or even losing a little, that way, it will not trigger TS's automation of cutting your volume. I don't know this 100%, hopefully, one of the super aff here will chime in later

Well, that is kinda strange, if you've done everything right creating a whitelist, but there is no traffic... I think the best way is to talk with your manager in MGID - may be it's smth technical or you've just made an error with settings. In any case, I think the idea is worth trying. If it doesn't help you, my recommendations would be to find another traffic source - may be MGID doesn't have traffic for your offer types in specific countries.
