After a few days roaming the threads and learning some tricks and tips, I thought I would take the plunge and commit myself to do a follow along.

I've dabbled in ppv/ppc for a couple of months with cpa offers, but nothing serious. Think I have spent around $230 in advertising on 7 Search and about $150 on DirectCPV. I've earnt about $150 from MaxBounty.

Been reading until my eyes burn, but you don't really learn until you DO.

I've been using Prosper and just installed CPV Lab which is a big improvement.

So here goes, I have just set up CPVLab with my first campaign for the dating niche.

The traffic is coming from DirectCPV and I'm going to target one url and direct link to 5 dating offers, 4 from MaxBounty and 1 from EWA.

If you can think of any tweaks I should be doing, please let me know. I'll post again when I have some stats.

At least you've taken the first jump and getting stuck in, like you said you can read this forum for months but you won't get anywhere until you get started.

24th November Update

I was watching the new campaign like a hawk last night and decided to change the target after spending $9.66, probably too soon but I had a hunch so I changed the target and went to bed.

Woke up this morning and checked the stats and had a conversion through maxbounty.

Stats:

Target 1: $9.66 0 Conversions
Target 2: $7.09 1 Conversion $3.50
Loss: $13.25

The problem with Direct Linking is you have no idea if visitors are showing any interest, that's the reason I cut it short and changed the target. With Landing Pages you can measure the CTR which gives a bit of feedback.

I have a question before I try the next step, is it possible to target query stringed targets? Like domain.com/?var=123&var1=234

I do have a LeadImpact account, but I have a balance in DirectCPV which I want to use up first, I'm not impressed with DirectCPV.

Question for the UK affiliates regarding EWA application: How do you get hold of a SWIFT number? Apparently I need it for wire transfers

I believe if you login to your internet banking you can find it on the statements.

Other than that just ring them up and explain your trying to receive international payments and they will give the IBAN and Swift codes you need.

Am I right in saying that you can't bid on domainname.com if the offer you're promoting is for domainname.com on LeadImpact?

If so, how do you guys test, Bait and Switch? Or do you test on another network?

yeah you can't bid on the offer URL in LI....it's easy enough to get around with cpvlab, just submit the campaign to LI with a different offer then switch it in cpvlab once you have approval.

Isn't that kind of risky? Will I not get banned if caught?

Or will they just stop the campaign and give me a ticking off?

Quick update!

I've added 4 new campaigns to LI but I'm still waiting for approval, should be able to bang in another couple of campaigns today.

Do the LI popups allow vertical scrolling and resizing or are the popup windows a fixed size?

Do you guys use the same disclaimer to suit every cpa or cps offer?

yes they can be resized by the user and scrollbars are visible.

Just found a keyword in the LI keyword suggestion feature which was:

healthy*skin

Whats the asterisk for, is it a wildcard?

Yeah, it is a wildcard "for one letter only". You cannot use multiple wildcards, their system won't allow it.

Finally...Starting to get somewhere, been trying allsorts all week and today I've been working on one traffic source pretty much all day.

Nowhere near a profit yet but I'm starting to get conversions:

commission is $1.45 survey, the urls below are variations of one url

url 1) 039 imp $0.66 00 clicks
url 2) 238 imp $4.04 04 clicks no cv
url 3) 226 imp $3.84 11 clicks no cv
url 4) 251 imp $4.26 06 clicks 01 cv
url 5) 304 imp $5.16 06 clicks no cv
url 6) 160 imp $2.72 02 clicks 02 cv

I'm planning on ditching all but 4 & 6 and see if I can work on getting the ctr higher, if I can do that successfully, then I shall see if I can add similar urls.

WTF!!!

Paused all but 4,6 and 1 and now I'm getting zero, nada, nothing, no impressions whatsoever.

Even whacked up the daily cap and switched them all back on again, still no impressions.

hang on...

I'm a big smegging idiot...the schedule was switched off for today...doh!

Quickly killed 2 urls and was left with one which was providing conversions, but I just couldn't get the ctr up past 5% consistantly.

Any help or advice would be appreciated as I'm not really sure where to go from here.

Not pursuing the Tesco Gift card anymore, spent too much, but learnt a lot.

Just set up 2 more email submit campaigns today, just have to wait for LI to approve...

A Little success, started two new campaigns day before yesterday, not much traffic but it's profitable so far one campaign.

Spent $0.75
Earnt $2.90
ROI 286.67%

33% CR - 2 Conversions

Hopefully I can get more traffic and increase the earnings on this one.

Like I said not huge

What do you guys do regarding getting more traffic, do you set up another campaign for different traffic source or do you send traffic from various traffic sources to the same campaign?

try and get sufficient traffic so your spending at least $10 a day

then optimize your targets/offers/landers

then bid higher, add broader targets

the quick way to get more traffic, besides bidding higher, is to include all the URL variations. Use the tool in affexpert for that
