Cloaking Setup

Hi guys,

I’ve been trying to get FB Blackhat working for me, but so far it didn’t really work out that well. I’m working with a FB business account (bought from a trusted company in the business) and linked the safepage (bought from that same company) to the fanpage on FB. Before doing any spend, I posted various articles from the safepage on the fanpage and after about 2 weeks, I started doing the first spend on posts from the safepage (WH). After spending over $100, I started with the first BH campaign. Basically I posted an article on the safepage that’s related to the offer that I’m pushing (i.e. article about a supermarket & offer for a supermarket gift card). I tried working with different starting budgets for the BH campaign, ranging from $20-100. In all cases the accounts never surpassed $500 spend, because they got banned before reaching interesting volumes. It’s frustrating, because I know this type of setup should be able to work very well, but I haven’t gotten it right yet. I'm sure there is something essential that I'm overlooking or missing out on, so if you have any pointers, please let me know!

You should provide more details. I'm guessing you're trying to push a sweepstakes offer. What kind of ban do you get? For ad policy? Suspicious payment activity? Unusual activity? The setup in theory should be ok, I'm guessing it might be a problem with the accounts you're getting or your cloaking setup.

Hey blackemil, thanks for your response! It is indeed a sweepstakes offer and got the ban for policy violations.
Looking at the cloaking setup, I use Noipfraud. I implemented the javascript provided after setting up the campaign in the cloaker. There I use Facebook Ads as traffic source and block everything outside of the geo that I'm targeting with the campaign.
I did use images in the ads that show the logo of the brand that is linked to the campaign, so this could very well be the reason of the ban. However, using the same images in the whitehat setup hasnt given me any problems. So in that's why I think the issue could also be in another part of the setup.
Do those details give you a better insight in the current situation?

^ Using the brand is not necessarily the problem. Your problem most probably lies in the social feedback you get from using the brand in the way you do. Think outside the box for a sec on how you could use the brand in a way that gathers a lot of positive social feedback

I agree, the brand usually doesn't present a problem unless you get reported by that brand. May I ask what type of cloaking do you do, redirect or iframe? As I never used Noipfraud and I don't understand your setup. Using redirect is outdated and that might be a reason for the ban.

As mihalis90 said, with sweepstakes you have to be careful about your angle because people have been spammed with these type of offers and if you get a lot of negative feedback on your ads, that's also bad for your ads account.

"However, using the same images in the whitehat setup hasnt given me any problems."
It's defintely the cloaking setup then, assuming the angle is the same with the different setups. Perhaps provide some more info if possible of the cloaking setup?

Thanks for the response guys, appreciate it! I'm indeed using the redirect, so I add a javascript in the header of the safepage that redirects to the offer. Noipfraud says the following about this:
"This JavaScript is added to your Alternate campaign page. If a visitor is deemed safe, a JS redirection to your Primary page occurs. If not, the visitor remains on your Alternate page."

There are three other options in the setup:
1. Link: "A simple link. Visitors will be redirected to the appropriate page server-side."
2. PHP Path: "This method allows you to utilize custom paths for your campaigns at the same server as your noIPfraud installation, providing the advantage of keywords in URLs with no visible footprint."
3. PHP Embed: "This advanced method allows you to embed noIPfraud redirect logic within your existing PHP landing pages."

I think the third option would be the safest, so I'll try that setup out on the next campaigns. Thanks again for your feedback guys, much appreciated!

Try PHP Embed, no redirect cloaking.

Never ever, ever use Javascript from NoIP.... Always PHP embed.
