I received an email from my affiliate network, saying that they're receiving adult traffic to mainstream offers. Now, the overall traffic volume from these sites are really low. The traffic volume from my advertiser is around 23,000 and traffic from adults sites is 11 visitors.
The odd thing is that the IP address for all the adult sites are the same.
How did these guys get my affiliate link?
Is this an affiliate campaign spying service?
Any other thoughts?
P.S. I think we came to the understanding that because the traffic from adult sites is so low compared to the overall volume that this was a non-issue.
The truth is, adult traffic is cheap and easy to acquire, that's why some site owners buy it in order to inflate their visitor counts and get some extra ad impressions and clicks... this is a problem that always jumps up from time to time. It can also be some kind of a mistake on either the publishers or networks side, some redirect, fallback link etc ...
The best to do here would be to ask for some more details and maybe some kind of proof like a screenshot, redirect path or something similar ... so you an show it to your traffic source and have them take action and also to stay protected for the future if it happens again. I've been rejected from offers due to this a few times already, thought it was never my fault ...
