My first test runs with arbitrage--working out kinks

Firstly, a big thank you to vortex and Mr Payne for your afflow arbitrage tutorials.

I'm trying Zeropark/Monetizer arbitrage. After a few test runs I'm confused by a few things.

1---I'm not getting click data in Voluum. I assume I left out a {whatever} tag somewhere in the url? I see conversions and revenue and (I think) everything else. Also I'm not clear on the definition of clicks vs visits. I did a ppv campaign in ZP, but the # of "bought" and "visits" in ZP/Voluum is roughly equal to the # of "clicks" in Monetizer. But there's still another column for clicks in Voluum...so what's that?

2---The traffic comes way too fast. A $5 test at 0.0001 cpm is finished by the time I take a bathroom break and each $5 run actually spends ~$10-20. Is there a way to slow down the traffic so I can spread it over hours instead of seconds?

I appreciate any insights on my rookie mistakes. Thank you

1)That's a frequently-asked question. Visits are the visitors that were sent to monetizer. Clicks should show zero because you're not using a landing page of your own (effectively you're direct-linking to monetizer). You'd only get clicks if you were using your own lander, where clicks would be the number of visitors that end up clicking out of your lander to arrive at the offer. So all is well in your case. As long as you see conversions being made and posted back you should be fine.

2)ZP unfortunately doesn't allow us to throttle traffic, i.e. spread it out over time. Are you running world-wide traffic targeting all/most/many geos? If so, then $10-20 really isn't much money. And getting your testing done faster can be a good thing.

If you're testing lots of geos, don't worry about day parting because you're just trying to get a very rough idea on which geos are hopeful. If you're targeting more selectively, for example a particular vertical+geo+carrier, based on promising stats in afflow, then look at the Day Parting stats on afflow and target high-eCPM hours - ZP does allow you to target by hour-of-day and day-of-week. But this would only work for good-performing offers that have been running on afflow for a while. For new offers showing promising performance, you'd want to jump in ASAP to get first mover's advantage. Offers are always being swapped in and out, so for the most part I wouldn't worry too much about dayparting (again, with the exception of offers/geo+carrier+whatevers that are stable performers).
