Facebook Newsfeed Change - thoughts?

Any thoughts on the recent news by Facebook about the upcoming change?

Good ads will be rewarded even more with a low CPC? Since volume of ads on timeline will be less, the good ones will get more volume and better quality?

Organic traffic has been plummeting since +2 years, so most of the big publishers shouldn't be shocked about this change ("hopefully").
As far as ads goes, it might happen that prices go up due to a possible increase of those publishers that once relied on the free traffic...

Other than that I think it's a great change for those who advertise on FB. Less noise in the newsfeed = higher attention and quality of ad viewers

I guess they want to introduce the explore feed in more GEOs now, or some kind of a mix. What it has done to my FB habits so far ... I spend WAY less time on facebook, the platform lost a lot of it's positives IMO. Now all that I see in my main news feed is photos of kids, birthday wishes, stupid quotes and vacation photos that look the same over and over ... content produced by my friends simply tends to follow the same structure, but it tends to get boring and in the end, I barely open Facebook now.

So yeah, Mark is right, this change will lower the time people spend on facebook, and he won't be happy about the ad revenue dip.

To be fair, this change is long overdue. It's become impossible to browse Facebook these days given the amount of sheer content from advertisers and groups/pages (notice how all this content follows the same format of an ad. I basically consider these pseudo-ads). Anyways, the user experience is shit. Prioritizing content from friends/family is definitely a step in the right direction but as an advertiser I have the same concern many of you do: how does this impact the delivery of our ads? The supply is the same but the overall reach has been throttled. How does the platform balance the two?

Hehe, it's not just the friends, it's the way people behave on FB now. The content from pages is shown in a different feed, that not many people browse, so they see less of that content which results in less of such content being shared.

Before the change, I used to share funny/interesting content from the pages I've been subscribed to, not much, just the best one. But now, I don't see the content in my feed, so I don't share anything... I don't have the habit of finding interesting content outside of facebook, just to bring it to the platform and share with my friends... and looks like most of my friends are the same.

Before the change, I used FB as a source of both social connections and entertainment, the ent part is gone, I only go there when I need to connect with my FB friends. If this is what Zuck wants, then more power to him

Haha fair point. To be honest I hate FB with every fiber in my body. I need to have it for money purpose otherwise I would skip it big time. I have same kinda friends I guess, all their post make me vomit internally putting themselves on a platform acting their lives are so good. Instagram and Snapchat are even worse, it's total shit IMHO and a sign people are getting dumber and dumber.

Furthermore I am a positive guy by the way lol

You should tell your friends about crypto, that will add some flavour to your feed, esp after these past few days, haha!

U are right Matuloo. Facebook lost its Entertainment and comic side to making money, Lool. This step is long overdue.

Right step in right direction, just little late. But can still have enough effect intended.
