AdWords - Offer Landing Page Question

Hello, I originally asked this in The Newbie Zone Questions and Answers but I think this is the proper place to ask.

In AdWords, am I allowed to send a click directly to the offer landing page? I couldn't find a definitive answer here or in the AdWords policies.

I am looking at a MaxBounty offer that requires a zip code entry. I cannot see having my own landing page between the ad and the offer landing page for this simple offer.

I am concerned about an AdWords ban when I'm just getting started.

Thanks,
Phil

Dont know exactly how it look in max bounty, but offers had always tracking url ( most of them are banned in adwords ) - example : offer link ad.xyz/2949 .. and domain ad.xyz is banned ( maybe not ). Second thing - these url are not final ( when you want visit ad.xyz/2949 - final destination will be offer123.com . Adwords don’t allow redirects.

So the best choice is creating a bridge page. ( page where arrive traffic from Adwords, and send them to offer with buttons, etc.

Thanks qkvaterpipe, glad I asked. MaxBounty tracking url does look like a typical tracking url. I'll use a bridge page.

But there’s second challenge. Google hate bridge pages and affiliate links. From my experience 2 of 10 pages got stopped because that.

The way how I fix that is :

1. When I setup ads, I remove affiliate links, and add them after 2 days
2. Cloak aff links ( the button on bridge page will not had “ad.yxz/2847”, but mybridgepage.com/exit )
3. Cloak whole ads ( paid cloaking services )

Both of those things will get your account banned sooner rather then later. In some cases you can actually direct link to an offer so long as the offer itself is AdWords compliant and you use a custom domain for your tracking link through your own tracking software. If you see the advertiser running AdWords themselves then that's a good indication that the offer is good to go. Your zip submit most likely doesn't fall into that category. Adwords has a pretty strict policy when it comes to bridge pages...they don't like them. If your bridge page offers zero additional value to the user then you will likely not get approved. This post by an actual google employee does a good job of explaining it.

Bmmedia, thanks for the info and the link. That's exactly what I needed.

While I have your ear, are you familiar with BingAds policies regarding this?

Bing is MUCH more lenient. I regularly run what AdWords would consider a bridge page on Bing with no problem at all. That is, a page which adds zero value for the user whose sole purpose is to get the user to click through to the offer page. One time I ran into an issue when I tried to run a lander without a Terms of Use and Privacy Policy and so that's one thing I always have available, even for Bing landers. But you can just use a generic one from any online generator and that's sufficient. For search campaigns I like to start with Bing to see if the campaign is viable. If it is, then I'll put in the effort to get it running on AdWords, usually in the form of a comparison review site. If you're just starting out, I wouldn't recommend AdWords. CPCs and volume are higher which can be scary in the beginning, especially now that AdWords will spend 2x your daily budget before throttling your campaign.

Depends on if the offer is compliant. With 99.9% of affiliate offers, the answer is almost always a solid no.

Never start a new offer you know nothing about on Adwords.
Get a Bing account, understand their policy and always test first. Bing is much more lenient... If there is prospects on Bing on an offer, bring the same offer to Adwords and launch successfully.
Bridge page is not always advisable, esp when it offers little or no advantage to the Main page.
