How to leave work in the office?
Hi!
My name is Maksim. Here is my presentation.
I've decided to write some reports about my steps in affiliate marketing. So, if you want to follow me and ask some "navigation" questions - I'll be happy to think about it and answer you
Vertical: 1click flow/wapclick.
Geo: RU
After speaking with my AM, I decided to try Beeline Carrier adult offers.
Traffic source - Mpay69.biz (click-under traffic).
Why it? Because I have a little budget to start and other big traffic sources (like propellerads) have min payment 100$. Now it is no a problem, but I want to understand and optimize this traffic source. I'll try others networks later.
The first campaign had a direct link to offers landings. ROI was -60%(not bad, i thought), but AM said that my leads had a few rebills (i used a CPA model). So I changed model to revshare.
After the first test, I did some mobile prelanding at Purelander.com and start to used it.
My first mistake was a small bid. I decided to collect whitelist placements and target it further. When I start new WL campaign I had very bad results and I stop traffic.
Now I start a new campaign with a good bid. I have a lot of traffic and can to collect whitelist and blacklist.
But it is 1 problem. A little budget for working campaign all day. After adding some placement to BL it works longer, but not the whole day.
I decide to collect data to BL and add bad placements with that bid, even campaign don't work a whole day. And start a new WL campaign.

Hello Maksim!
Beeline used to work very well for me for adult, if you have a good offer, it can still perform quite good. Not sure about the traffic source, never heard of it to be honest. Once you decide to test some other networks, I'd suggest to test banner traffic from exoclick, they have the biggest 3G inventory of all adult networks.
With POP traffic, it's very important to make sure you are not buying BOTs, did you run some bot test at all?
For adult offers, you need simple LPs with broad appeal ... warnings, video walls etc ... make them short and fast loading. Since you are in RU, get a beeline sim card and browse some large adult sites with it, look at what kinda LPs the buyers are running and get inspired.
In case of low budget, try to limit the traffic volume with more tight targeting, because it's important to run 24/7 to really understand the performance of the traffic. Try to target just certain phone types, OS ...

Interesting start!
I haven't heard of mpay69.biz, but seeking out less popular traffic sources is one of the best things you can do to avoid competition. Not every site will work well of course, but the more you try, the more good sites you'll find. If you find 1 good source out of 10, testing 100 sources will get you 10 good ones, which will put you ahead of a lot of your competitors that are too lazy to do such testing. You'll be able to scale faster and bigger.
Bidding too low can affect traffic quality. Usually, the traffic source would give the good traffic to high bidders, leaving bad traffic to low bidders. However, it's not necessary to bid high in the beginning either - around average or above would be fine. Some traffic networks will tell you what the average bid is for your targeting options, or at least for the geo you're targeting. Alternatively, you can ask the traffic sources' rep/support for a suggested average bid. Failing that, you can just try $2 - that should be good enough to avoid bad traffic for most geos.
Purelander.com I've never used, but it sure looks like it could be a useful service! Do you like it? And do you find it useful?
Whitelisting on pop networks don't usually give good results. Instead of whitelisting good placements, try blacklisting the biggest/bigger placements that aren't in your list of good placements. That way, the biggest placements would be the good placements, but you'll also get some traffic from the smaller/smallest placements. Somehow, this arrangement tends to work better on many pop networks. It's like the more placements you're targeting, the more important the network "thinks" your campaign is, and the more traffic it will assign to you.
Looking forward to your next update...
Amy

matuloo, vortex,
thank you a lot!
I've registered in exoclick. Try it soon.
Mpay69.biz is a local ru-traffic source. Quality of traffic is rather good. And I agree with testing different sources.
Purelander.com helps me because I've never done landings. It is a builder of simple mobile LPs. There are a different vertical's samples.
Thanks for the recommendations about whitelisting. Honestly, it was my main strategy. But now I'll be thinking how to optimize BL-campaign. Maybe use more LP, because I test only 3 variations.

Yup, you will most likely have to test more than 3, almost certainly to be honest
And vortex is right, using a blacklist is usually a better strategy than trying to target just the best placements. It's easier to reach decent volumes that way too.
