Voluum and Mobidea Global Postback Issue
Hello,
I am trying for the 2 weeks or so to get some offers to work on Voluum with Mobidea. I have 2 problems that i am trying to solve, with the AM from Mobidea, but so far nothing is changing.
Everybody says that everything works fine on their end, both Voluum and Mobidea, but the numbers say otherwise.
1. The postback in Voluum that i set in Mobidea is using custom-domains. Is not like http://track.voluumtrk2.com/etc

Only the secure postback is something like this: https://sub.voluumtrk2.com/etc...
************************************************** ************************************************** **************************
2. On Mobidea i have the global postback set like this:

here is the entire link:
http://customsite.com/postback?cid={{EXTERNAL_ID}}&payout={{MONEY}}&txid =OPTIONAL
************************************************** ************************************************** **************************
3. This is my offer link from Mobidea set in Voluum:
http://www.rotationurls.com/offer/12345%7C54321?data1=Track1&data2=Track2&tag={click id}&website={subID}&placement={sub_subID}
The AM in Mobidea says that the link is set correctly.
************************************************** ************************************************** **************************
The problems start here.
a. There is a big difference in click data from Voluum and Mobidea. Yesterday i had 150+ clicks in Voluum, and only 8 in Mobidea.
The traffic source is mobile display (banner ads):
Mobidea: 8 visits
Voluum: 171 visits
I switched the traffic source from mobile display (banners) to pop-ads (propellerads) and, it managed to record almost 100% the traffic:
Mobidea: 233 visits
Propeller: 236 visits
Why did it record only 8 clicks?
b. On the error log in Voluum i see this:

Invalid Postback requests.
The guys in Voluum told me this:

"I checked error log in your account and I can see that Mobidea didn't fire correct Postback with a specific click id." - Voluum Support
When i told that to Mobidea, they said there is no problem on their end and everything is working fine, plus they cannot do a
test conversion on Voluum because they have no option now to make the test conversion.
Now where is the problem? Is the postback link correct? I am going crazy. Everything is fine, but is not working.
************************************************** ************************************************** **************************
Earlier today i opened this forum, and saw a post from @Vortex:

She basically says to replace Track1 and Track2 and to delete everything after {clickid}, so my offer link would look like this:
http://www.rotationurls.com/offer/12345%7C54321?data1={campaign.id}&data2={trafficsource.id}&tag={clickid}
That would be a change only on the offer link.
What about the global postback link? What should i do to it?
Thank you.

I think you might need to change one thing in the offer url :
Since you are using "External_Id" in the postback :
http://customsite.com/postback?cid={{EXTERNAL_ID}}&payout={{MONEY}}&txid =OPTIONAL
it needs to be in the url too :
http://www.rotationurls.com/offer/12...&data2=Track2&EXTERNAL_ID={click id}&website={subID}&placement={sub_subID}
On their help page, it's not mentioned, but try if it helps anyways
Another option is that you also have offer specific postbacks set and it's overwriting the global one. This is form Mobidea's site :
On this page, you can set the Global Postback that’ll be used as your default Postback for all your Smartlinks and Offers. In case you set a specific Postback on the Offer or Smartlink page, it’ll be used instead of your account’s Global Postback.
As for the click difference, there is always some, but 8 vs 171 is to much. The banner campaign was directlinked or using a landing page? If there was an LP, how many people clicked through?

Was direct linked. So i don't know how many clicked through, unfortunately.

The thing that is strange is that my AM never mentioned this possibility, and neither the one with specific postbacks for the offers.

I'm not sure it's the problem, but it's an option to try. This is about default setup of any postback url, usually you need to use the same place holder in both the offer link and postback link, that's why I suggested testing it out.
The offer specific postback will overwrite the global one, so make sure you're using one or the other.
I asked about the CTR, because with LPs there is some fall off on the LPs naturally. Another thing you can try, is to look at IP report in
Voluum and see if you received a lot of visits from the same IP. In case you did, it could of been BOTs that
Mobidea didn't count.

Can you please tell me how can i be sure that the traffic is coming from bots, before i exclude that ip?
Thanks.

There are several hints to look for :
- if you see 100 visits/clicks from the same IP, it's most likely BOT. In many cases, you can see multiple visits from the same IP, it's normal in some GEOs/cities, but it's usually just a few visits and over a longer time span. If you see 100 on one day and the overall volume was 500, it's definitely a bot.
- you can setup a bot detection campaign, for example by following Caurmens guide :
https://stmforum.com/forum/showthrea...live-campaigns
- You can also setup bot traps : hidden links that lead to a different campaign for example. Make those links invisible for users, or barely visible ... if they still get clicks, it's bots.
... these few should be enough
