Let's say you have a demo of around 1 million:
Female
25+
Likes 'McDonalds'
(these figures are just made up by the way)
And you plan on running a 'McDonalds' related offer on this demo. How do you go about testing on this group to find the highest CTR ones?
I've had campaigns with 20+ images, but they normally bomb because of uneven delivery, so I tend to just go with 5 images for a campaign now.
But would you test those images on the whole demo straight away, or break it down into 5/10 year age ranges, or run with the wide age range but focus on geographic area (ie. test on big cities first, with demos of around 50k)?
I need a process to follow for my testing and would appreciate your input.
cheers.
first things first...make sure the offer converts....test a good image with a rather direct copy.....like one thats very clear and not going for the curiosity click.....a
if the offer has potential.....then I go
5 of the same ads per camp x 5 camps with dif images in each... depending on the age range I will often break into 2-3 segemets for each and expand from there mostly testing images at the start and being ruthless till I find one thats gonna work....with the age range...
Well, I'm running co-reg, and it is converting, but I just need to get my ctr up and drive down click cost.
So you are saying you would have campaign #1 (5 duplicate ads), campaign #2 (different image, 5 duplicates), and so on?
Do you also create different camps for breaking down your age range (ie. one camp for 25-30, another camp for 31-35, etc), or would you split the age within a single camp?
edit: Oh, and would you start with your max daily budget (ie. $2.5k) or a lower one for testing (say $1-200)?
