For virtually all of my native offers, I never make any effort to collect the visitor's email address. Part of the reason includes that I don't want an intrusive pop-up or any other obstacle from deterring people from continuing down the funnel. On the other hand, I do wonder how different my results would have been if I did collect their emails. Even then, what is one supposed to do with their email address? The common theme seems to be to setup an email funnel of sorts to try and lure them back in but in my experience this hasn't really been that effective. Do you guys have any suggestions?
1. What manner would you collect the email by?
a. pop-up appearing prior going to the next page
b. exit intent pop-up
c. standalone newsletter/discount code claim email entry somewhere on the lander?
2. How would you monetize these emails?
a. Email them with a follow-up reminder 24h-48h that your product can be bought for a discount
Hi Chipisti,
What offers are you running on native? using your own landers I guess?
1. I am using https://www.hellobar.com/ which is really good as you can choose from many features from a Popups/Floating Action Bars/Overlays/Sidebars etc.
I know that https://www.icegram.com/ do a similar thing and works well.
Both have a free version so you can A/B test what works best - and yea, if you are sending traffic and can collect Email addresses on the way - why not!
Even if a user didn't finish the funnel he might leave you his email.
I think those will be the best to start with before moving to SMTP and host mailing softwares.
2. That is a good example.
Also, you can try to send them about a similar offer in the future, they signed to your "newsletter" so they want to hear more.
There are many things you can do with a mailing list, anything between affiliate offers to build your own blog - but that is for after you have a nice list.
Update us how it goes!
Yeah can confirm, collecting emails is not among the natural affiliate instincts
. We just try to sell immediately or lose that customer forever. Never did it my self but I really regret it. There was also a nice speech of Neil Patel on this years AWA about this, about trying to collect every single information possible about the visitors of your page.
The flow how you collect them may not be so important (it can be exit pop) or directly in the page.
I think what is important is that you need to have something to offer to the visitor in order to be able to have a chance of having his email.
It can be a free e-book related to the product you are promoting, a free diet plan if you are promoting diet products for example, or a chance to win something.
Regarding about how to re-use them facebook can be another good place. You can generate custom audiences and then look-a-like audiences from these emails and target them with more softer ads on facebook.
Thanks for the tip guys; solid advice.
