Questions (newbie) about running a facebook ads.
Hi all, newbie here to AM, trying to make FB works. Can anyone with experience help me with the below.
Should we use Automatic bidding or Manual bidding? Which one should a newbie use as a start (learning process)
Where to find tons of images we can use for banners without getting into copyright issue?
I see many offers requires ‘custom banners’ to be approved. Does the image on facebook feeds qualify as a banner? And what abt the right hand side ad? I heard we have to test many images, wouldn’t it be time consuming to ask for permission for bunch of images we would like to use.
Thanks!!

All about testing, but in general, automatic bidding is better when you just starting.

This is not an issue in facebook. Unless you are doing millions of spend per day with a brand and stealing competition brands ads without editing them. Facebook doesn't really care.

I don't think ''custom banner'' is ment for facebook traffic. With facebook, most networks require verification for presells. And yes, it is time consuming but when you been working with some network for longer period without any fraud, they kind of stop asking this. Same with the caps(amount of leads/sales you can make per day), generally new affiliates start low, but after proving quality, you can run as many as advertiser wants or needs.
Also, for more accurate answer, can you please explain or show example of offer, where you saw ''custom banner'' requirement?

The whole manual bidding vs. automatic bidding issue is a pretty hot topic of debate right now. Facebook really seems to be pushing for the manual bidding. In theory, I do not see the point; the automatic bidding should adjust bids as necessary to remain competitive so I don't know what the manual approach accomplishes. My account manager also seems to be a fan of manual bidding but I think her experience is primarily in the context of big brand name marketing clients (Victoria's Secret, Mercedes Benz, etc...) who may be using much more sophisticated and broad approaches to their marketing campaigns. I don't know how much of that translates to the type of marketing most of us do. I've experimented with both and haven't seen much differences in results (other than spending more money for less results with the manual). Maybe someone more experienced can chime in
