Exoclick Desktop Inventory No Good? (8)

Exoclick Desktop Inventory No Good?

It seems like when I run on Desktop on Exoclick, most of the sites on their premium inventory have really low CTR which makes it tough/impossible to profit (ie around 0.07% or less)

It appears a lot of their sites have referral traffic and not as much search engine traffic so that could be it.

It's a shame because the sites do convert, it's just the banner CTR is really low on these placements (im talkin about NTV spots).

Seems like maybe only the mobile inventory is ok.

Anybody else have similar experiences?

My biggest problem with their desktop traffic is the amount of fake traffic in rotation. And yes, sometimes the CTR is to low as well. Quite often, it's a problem of poorly defined zones ... people put more instances of the same zone on the same page.

They also sell traffic flat deals, but not sure how much of an effect this could have on the traffic quality.

Anyways, since you are doing dating, exo isn't the best source for this in general, most of the premium publishers moved to other smaller platforms by now.

I have heard it said that you need to spend close to $10K on a single source to master it... quite possibly applies to Exoclick.

Yes there are a ton of bots.

I've spent multiples of 10k with them, that's not the problem. Their inventory changed a lot over the years, many of the large spots moved to other networks and a lot of the small ones stayed ... it changes all the time though, so it can all look different in a few months. They are still the best adult network for mobile carrier traffic though ... exo can be great, depending on what kind of traffic exactly you need.

Yeah I've also spent multiples of $10k with them as well.

I think Exo is still good for mobile traffic since they have a large inventory and a ton of targeting options.

However for the most part I think the Desktop inventory isn't great, and to be honest almost unusable due to the low CTRs.

It would be one thing if they lowered their minimums, but I dont see that happening, and Im not gonna pay 20-30 cents/click for marginal sites.

Also their recent crackdown on blinking/aggressive banners makes it even harder to get a good CTR, so it's even worse now lol

I'd be willing to buy the traffic on a CPC basis, but like most CPC algorithms, the flow of traffic stops after a while if the CTR is too low (which it will be).

So I guess it's a no-go for now for me regarding Desktop traffic.

Exo desktop is a bitch indeed, there are insane volumes, but it's hard to work with it. I personally also buy the bulk of my desktop traffic elsewhere.

Hey matuloo, can you give some better adult banner traffic? Thanks

Traffic Junky is always a safe bet ... consistent solid quality and good distribution, so you get decent quality even with lower bids.

Juicyads - poor interface but some forgotten placements that have great quality for cheap.

Trafficstars, trafficfactory, traffichaus (flat deals too) ... all solid sources.

Ero-advertising - missing volume in some segments, but quite a few gems to be found in their inventory.

These should keep you busy for a while
