Mgid moderation

Hey guys,

Has anyone else been experiencing much longer than usual ad moderation periods with Mgid?

I have 40+ ads on moderation for over a week, and I have more to add. I've never had to wait that long before.

Is this happening to anyone else?

Hey Johnnyw,

Yeah, I've also had longer moderation periods with other languages in the past. Still took less than one week.

But in this specific case, I am talking about English ads.

Took me around 10 days for the last ads I uploaded (and they were less than 10), US geo.

Usually they do, but not this time. All I get from him is - "be patient, nothing to do."

No way.. I guess it's safe to assume that they are a bit understaffed?

I've seen part of their staff at AWA, not sure how many of them are responsible for approvals, but it could still have some effect on their operation. The activity usually goes down on all levels, when there is a large industry conference or other event, such as AWA ... and since Thailand is an attractive destination, many reps turned it into a short vacation too and stayed for a couple more days.

Let's see if it gets back to normal now, when it's over and slowly returning to normal.

I heard from an account manager in October that they were receiving more uploads than normal, but that was in October. Just uploaded something, let's see how long it takes .

Maybe they're growing too fast, but the company is quite big.

The ad I uploaded yesterday just got approved. Or either they're reading here or they're just overloaded from now and then. I started spending again not so long ago, probably how much you're spending per week also influences in what position of the moderation queue they put you in.

They told us to expect way longer approval times until after the holidays

I had all of my ads approved today in bulk (over 50 ads), regardless of the date they were submitted at. (some were submitted last night, others last Monday)

Based on this instance, I can assume that their queue is arranged by advertiser account, rather than order of ads submitted.

Many comments here make a lot of sense. Such as how AWA may have temporarily affected the operation, and that they are simply growing fast and currently lacking the employees to keep up with the moderation.

I bet their growth has a lot to do with rev-content's recent updated policies, and a lot of advertisers are crossing over their efforts to other ad networks including Mgid...

I do a fair amount of advertising on MGID and you are right, they prioritize ads based on time submitted and advertiser account. The queue is also account based from what I can tell. In general when my ads are reviewed it's at the same time across my all my campaigns.

The more you spend on MGID the higher priority you will have for them. Best thing you can do is spend more and develop a good relationship with your AM. Once I hit around 2k / day spend my ads started to get approved within about 24 hours max.

They are also experiencing a huge increase in submissions. Probably due to the holidays and the revcontent quality crackdown. With that said I've also noticed them tightening down on their submission criteria as well. Getting stricter.
