So I finally got this campaign I'm working on going (about 30-40% ROI), but it appears it really only works with a single banner. When I plug in similar banners, it quickly goes to breakeven/slight loss so I know that there's something about this banner that works.
After all my testing, it appears that it's the "image" of the banner that's working.
So at this point am I just creating new banners/layouts around this image to keep things going?
I have done this with some success so far, but it doesn't really seem like a long term strategy. At some point I would think people are going to get tired of looking at this woman lol.
I guess my question is how do I keep things going? Do I just have to keep testing new images?
I just don't feel like I can ride this image forever.
- Use same image, but with different campaigns. They might give you a better ROI. So start looking for more similar offers!
- Use same image, but in other geo's with same offer, or similar offer
- Use same image, but add different "slight" changes. It might get a better CTR, or same CTR but then you have two ads
Try to find out WHY this image does so well and test different images with similar components in it.
Can you find other images with the same model? That'll rapidly tell you if it's the woman or the shot that's making it work.
If you can use other images with the same model, then you should be able to keep going for a while.
Thanks for the replies guys.
As to your question Carumen, no I do not think I can find other images of this model.
So I guess the question really is how do we keep things going once a banner dies?
I mean sure we can make say variations of winning banners etc., however it seems necessary that somehow you need to develop a skill where you can create winning banners etc. repeatedly while at the same time not blowing too much of your money on testing?
At this time it seems like profits are hard to come by, and what little you earn, gets blown up on testing new banners.
At that point, all of @stickupkid's advice is gold dust, and I'd just add one more piece: don't test randomly, try to crack the "code" of why this particular image works.
This post I made a while ago on the Scientific Method may come in handy there: https://stmforum.com/forum/showthrea...s-Ago-(Part-1)
Start by thinking of all the variables that could make it work. Is it the pose? The expression? The model's hair colour, eye colour, face shape, body shape? The colours used in the image?
Then try testing images with similarities along each of those lines, and see if you start getting better results from some.
It may be a combination of two or more factors.
I agree that in adult dating it is an image that plays a major role in conversions. The problem is that they stop working very quick.
The only solution is to
1)"borrow" banners from other affiliates by spying
2) go to images.google.com , search for "big ass nude", and test hundereds and hundres of images to find the one that is working.
If you can solve the "image" problem in adult dating, you can make a lot of $$$$$. I have been doing adult dating for many years, but i still couldn't solve that problem.
