Want to make millions selling digital cats?
Apparently Ethereum is alive with the sound of digital meows:
Over the weekend, over $2.5 million (about 6,200 ether) passed through this smart contract as a result of people breeding, buying and selling these digital kittens.
The most expensive kitten, Genesis, sold for nearly $118,000 on Saturday, according to a third-party website keeping track of Cryptokitty sales. The average price of a Cryptokitty is about $110 and the cheapest cat is about $30. Tales of people making hundreds of dollars on digital cat sales are already cropping up in the Cryptokitties subreddit.
The Cryptokitty craze has rightfully drawn comparisons to the Beanie Baby bonanza of the late 90s, an impressive feat for a game that emerged from an Ethereum hackathon in Toronto just a few months ago.

Bad mews, er, news for anyone who was considering diversifying into feline futures: they've just radically upped the cost of "birthing" new cats as it was putting the Ethereum system under too much strain.

Now someone copy this and do horses, or dogs
In any case, it's interesting stuff.
When you look at the dynamics of such an ecosystem too:
Will people breed new cats as quickly as possible at the risk of traits becoming less rare and thus less valuable. Or go for one-off jackpots with very rare "parents"
Will there be a breeding service, where you can request a certain combo of parents - who will run the dating ads ;-)
Also, it's good for the crypto currency itself - now, there's another actual use for it as a means of paying someone. Not just a speculative investment.

Good news for sure, but bad news for making the network so slow. It's a real issue all these stuck transactions.
