Newbie trying to make Afflow Arbitrage work! Inspired by Vortex's guide.
Hello everyone,
I have been around the forum for a while and am particularly interested in Afflow Arbitrage, inspired by Vortex's guide. I have had everything ready (Afflow, Voluum, and Zeropark) and I have also started sending traffic. My goal is to make profit, regardless how little it is and to learn the statistical aspect of AM and optimisation. Please help me go through this journey and of course I will try to also contribute to the community as well
01/12
- Campaign approved by Zeropark and traffic starts flowing
- Campaign had been running for roughly 2-3 hours when I got 773 visits (based on Voluum's stats) and 228 clicks (based on Afflow stats). So, the clickloss is more than 50%! I have checked that all the links are working correctly and I have spoken to the Afflow, and he said that it could be due to JS click, as Afflow doesn't take into account JS click, and that could be due to duplicate clicks and differences between Afflow and Voluum timezone
- I paused the campaign and has been waiting for further response from Voluum, Zeropark, and Afflow
What do you guys think about this? I read somewhere on the forum that Vortex had mentioned that only 20%-30% clickloss is normal...
Regards,
Cynthia

Hello everyone,
I used VPN to see how long the landing page loaded from the original country. The result was terrifying.. the landing page hadn't even shown up even after 1 minute. Of course, mobile users would close the tab.
Is there anything I can do to fix this?
Here is the screenshot of the landing page after 1 minute loading time.

Thank you so much before.. really looking for working solution...

Talk to Afflow support about that. There's a good chance that you're getting blocked because you're coming from a VPN and that's not actually the loading speed users are seeing.
That assumes that you're doing a direct link, of course - I take it you're not using a lander of your own before afflow?

I have talked with Afflow's support and been waiting for further replies as the support intended to talk with their tech.
Is there anything I can do to know the causes of the clickloss apart from talking to support? I feel desperate waiting for their reply and not able to do something on my own.
Yes, I am not using my own lander and just direct link.
Regards,
Cynthia.

If you're literally going Zeropark -> Voluum -> Afflow, then there's not a lot you can do to change things: all of those pieces of technology are out of your control.
I'd recommend starting another campaign in a different geo and seeing if you're getting different click loss results there. It may just be that one geo is giving the system weird problems: which geo is it?

Ok I will try that. Thanks Caurmen. That geo was Japan.

Sorry I missed this! Good thing we're already discussing this in the other thread:

I've added you on skype - let's take a look.

Hello Caurmen and Vortex,
The click-loss problem has been solved. It was due to in-apps clicks and eversince ZP blocked such traffic in my campaign, I have got very low click-loss.
So, it is all good now, in terms of click-loss.
HOWEVER, there is another obstacle....
The geo is Japan and I bid 0.0013 CPV. For such bid, ZP considers it to be highly competitive (4 visibility dots).
So I am confused as to why I got very little traffic then.. Does this mean ZP has little available traffic for the targeting?
Should I keep increasing the bid or test other traffic source?
Thank you ...

Yup - I've asked John at Afflow about the clickloss also. For everyone's benefit, here is what's causing the big discrepancy recorded by the traffic source vs. afflow:
We do not count clicks from devices/browsers where JavaScript is not enabled (we also don't count duplicate clicks, same IP, user agent etc. within 30 minutes), and we find that a lot of in-app traffic is no JS, which can cause large amounts of clickloss within certain targeting parameters, not only with ZP but with other traffic sources which have fair amounts of in-app traffic.
With regards to bidding for traffic in Japan: Based on ZP's inventory chart, it's among the top 20 geos in terms of traffic volume. However, you're targeting carrier traffic right? That would yield significantly less traffic than targeting wifi. I don't remember how much carrier traffic ZP has for JP, but to verify your suspicion, try bidding $1-2 higher to see how much traffic you get. That way you'd be testing bids as well - where higher bids will likely trigger traffic from the better placements.
As for testing another traffic source - you can do that of course. ZP has lots of volume, but for quality I like to turn to PopAds or Propellerads.
