I am having a hard time finding good landers for Mobile adult offers.
Am I correct in saying that most is done without landers and affiliates are direct linking?

If we talk about PIN flows, you have to use LPs, cause it will be so hard to get a positive ROI with direct linking.
If we talk about 1-click I can say on my experience:
1) You should use LPs, cause most of countries has not so aggressive pages, and you need to motivate your users + it often doesn't look like a simple video page, so users don't trust.
Also there can be some additional things: Captcha, Checkbox, Price, Rules etc... And if people see it you can frighten them.
2) There are some geos and offers which you can push with direct linking. It's often Tier-2/3 countries with good pages (no rules/just small, no price etc...). For example my 1st campaign I've ever run was 1-click Adult offer for Brazil. I did a lot of direct linking, cause that time I didn't know how to use LPs 
So check the offer's page.
But for POP traffic I highly recommend to use LPs in 100% cases.

Usually it's a copy of porntube with 20-40 videos. And wherever people click, they will go to the offer.
On top of what mrbraun posted ... there is still a lot of carrier billing offers run through directlinking ... I assume it's the offers owners from a large part, since they get to keep the whole margin and can live with the lower EPCs.
Properly designed carrier billing offer can still convert well without a LP, the easier the flow, the better of course ... but yes, I had better result with proper LPs.
Just got Adult Adplexity, been browsing through it for a while but I just can´t seem to find any matching offers.
Most of it seems to be some sort of ¨Chat with girls¨ type of landers but what offers would these match up with?
A tiny push in the right direction would be hugely appreciated

If you want LPs for carrier billing, look for video walls, warning style LPs, download/streaming stuff ... there are some like that out there, but not that many.
I have decided to give Adult dating a shot!
I looked at your guides and you mention that there is a better use for 3G traffic, but how about the SMS optin offers?
Will they still convert even though a user is on Wifi?

man, just go to pornhub.com and you will see lots of banners promoting adult dating and lots of LPs. Download 3 LPs and test which one works for you.

Currently running adult dating in the US, started off with 20 landers and 5 offers.. Now down to 3 landers and 3 offers and -10% ROI. Should become profitable by Today.
The plan is then to use the 3 best landers and use those for other GEOS.
With regards to the content offers... I have ripped 50 landers..The plan is to use them for extensive testing and use the winners in different Geos.

Did you run a BOT test maybe?
Did you test multiple networks, smartlinks from a few networks ... etc.
I ran smartlinks before and used the bot trap for the first round of visitors to get rid of bots. Also using theoptimizer to kill targets with zero ctr.
When i look at the stats from the networks all traffic is in line with the requirements.
The issue might be that I am rotating 29 landers and only a few seem to be generating conversions.

what is this "Bot trap" mentioned?
excuse me for the simple question but what's a good effective way to do a bot test?
