First Campaign EVER on my way to $100.00 A DAY inspired by Vortex

Hello My name is Abdul I joined this form like two weeks. I have been looking around the form and the thing I have found most helpful is Vortex's guide. I have followed it every step of the way, but time after time I have faced setback after setback. Whether it's getting my domain set up or getting the tracking up and the latest's one with propeller ads working. But I'm okay with it because I have been reading about this industry to know that you will make 99 mistakes before you succeed once. So I'm not going to give up AM takes a whole lot grit but i'm willing to learn so any help would be appreciated especially from Vortex

Today i made my first sale/ signup I think. I'm not sure because my tracker is not set up to the pop ads campaign I edited it like an hour ago by changing the traffic source to pop ads.
Then I put in the url from the campaign I already started I'm not sure if that is right. Can somebody help me.

I'm here! Let's get the party started!

Today i made my first sale/ signup I think. I'm not sure because my tracker is not set up to the pop ads campaign I edited it like an hour ago by changing the traffic source to pop ads.
Then I put in the url from the campaign I already started I'm not sure if that is right. Can somebody help me.
First of all - congrats on your first conversion!

I see that you're still at Level 1: NOOB. You can easily move up some levels by making more posts - starting this follow-along will definitely get you lots of points (because you'll be making posts here and receiving thanks). Also, you can make a quick post about your first conversion in this forum section to get a bunch of easy points:

https://stmforum.com/forum/forumdisp...-Conversion(s)

Here are the brief instructions:

https://stmforum.com/forum/showthrea...lestone-Thread

Regarding your links - you need to show me what you've done. Otherwise I can't make suggestions.

Take some screenshots of your Voluum settings:

-for popads

-your campaign settings

Which url did you put into popads as the destination url? Your Voluum campaign url I hope?

When posting images please use imgur.com - grab the bbcode link and paste into your post here. That way it will always show up (unlike trying to upload as a forum attachment) and will appear big instead of as dinky thumbnail images.

My affiliate network is Mobidea

Midas - I can't verify whether your tracker settings or popads settings are correct, if you don't include screenshots!

I've already specified what types of screenshots I wanted to see, in my post above.

As for the language of the offer page - you'll need to ask your affiliate manager about that. If it's a carrier-billing offer, it won't be easy for you to see the actual offer page, because if you're not browsing to the affiliate link using a mobile device with a SIM card of that mobile carrier, then the affiliate network will probably redirect you to another offer. This is because carrier-billing offers only accept traffic from users of specific mobile carriers that are using data, not wifi. So when the affiliate network detects unaccepted traffic, they will redirect that to an offer that accept that traffic, so as not to waste it. But your AM should be able to tell you.

does anybody know How I can track cost on popads through volumm
All I do is I take the offer url from Mobidea and then I put it into the the campaign url in volumm.
Then I save it after that I put it in the url to popads. Then I took the postback url from popads and I put it in volumm. The only thing I get back is the visits It doesn't give me the costs or anything else. can someone tell me step by step how to do it. The thread posted by craig88 helps but I need more than that.

I also can't drill down for some reason there is nothing there.

Hey!

First of all - costs are not easy to track, you'd need to work with estimated costs only
Are the other parameters being tracked properly? Normally you first set Voluum with your traffic source, then go to Voluum, get a postback link, set it in Mobidea (global postback, custom), then change the offer's link, and insert it in voluum. So seems like you did it all the opposite way

Have you seen this thread here - https://stmforum.com/forum/showthrea...ghlight=lesson ?

12-07-2017 10:36 PM #24 midas54 (Member)

Here is what I understood from your post and vortex's thread. First you set up the traffic source on volumm (by the way I don't know how to set up advanced parameters on traffics source in volumm) then you take the postback link in the traffic source and put that into the global postback url (custom) at that same time I put my subdomain in global postback(volumm) Third I take the offer link put that into the offer section then set the parameters and take the postback url from it. (don't know how to set up parameters in offers section of volumm) after that I create a campaign and set it to to path>direct-linking after that I take the campaign url generated and put that into popads. I don't know what to do with the postback url from popads besides that I'm lost

First of all - apologies for the delay in replying! I've been very busy attending the AWA conference and then FB Mastery Live. Back to work now playing catch up.

Based on your screenshots (thank you for providing them!) I'm seeing both traffic AND conversions show up in Voluum - there shouldn't be any problems then? What was the original issue?

Eek! A number of things don't sound good at all.

1)When you take the offer url from Mobidea, you don't put it into the campaign url in Voluum - you need to create a new offer in Voluum. Please go through the step-by-step in my tutorial.

2)No need to take the postback from popads and put that into Voluum, because you don't need for conversions to show up in popads stats. You only need to set up the postback between the aff network and Voluum so that conversion stats will show up in Voluum - again, please follow the step-by-step in my tutorial.

3)Are you saying you've put the postback link of the traffic source into the global postback url field at the aff network? That would be incorrect! Setting up the postback between the aff network and voluum would suffice.

Also - are the number of conversions in Voluum the same as the number of conversions recorded in the affiliate network's stats?

Regarding tracking costs in Popads...

If you're using the traffic source template for popads in Voluum, then costs are automatically tracked by the [BID] token:

In Voluum go to "Traffic sources" tab, then click on "+ New Traffic Source" button. In "Other Templates" choose "PopAds" and click "Load template". Then in the new window click "Save".

After that, you WILL need to grab your campaign url again if you have a campaign running now, and replace the destination url at PopAds.

However, the costs that show up in Voluum will not be accurate. For certain geos, the costs can be off by as much as 100% - i.e. the actual costs can be twice the amount of what shows up in Voluum.

So - always check costs recorded by the traffic source if you want accurate amounts.

I also can't drill down for some reason there is nothing there.
Please tell me step-by-step where you're clicking, and I'll tell you where you've gone wrong.

Thanks I understand now I was able to get the drilldown problem fixed, but the one thing I was wondering is do I have to change the offer link

Are you referring to when you take the affiliate link from Mobidea, and putting that into Voluum as a new offer?

If you've configured the postback, then the affiliate link should already contain the "&tag={clickid}" token. Then you'll just need to add the tokens "data1={campaign.id}&data2={trafficsource.id}" . Your final offer link in Voluum should look something like this:

http://www.trklink.mobi/offer/12345%7C12345?data1={campaign.id}&data2={trafficso urce.id}&tag={clickid}

Exactly this! But let me correct you in terms of domain, it should be http://www.rotationurls.com/offer since we don't have www.trklink.mobi/ anymore

LOL thanks Mobidea! I should really have replaced the domain name with something generic like "www.mobidea-domain.com".

As long as the tokens are correct we're all good.

Thanks for validating and correcting! Much much appreciated!

so far It still looks like I have a lt to learn I have already spend around 120 and I have made 13.27 and most of that is because of smartlinks. I really don't know what it is I'm still focused on directlinking, but I'm pretty sure the problem is That I asked the support team for best offers for directlinking and I think there is a lot of competition for those offers so without substantial investment you can't make any real money. So I'm thinking try it a bet more advertise for a few days spend five times payout and target profitable placements. The only problem is that I haven't gotten any revenue let alone profit. Honestly I'm not really sure where to from here any advice would be helpful. should I just start using prelanders?

06-13-2018 03:02 AM #31 vortex (Senior Moderator)

You'll need to start by editing the HTML file.

My lessons go into detail on how to fix the most common things.

After you've fixed the common stuff, browse again to that lander file to see how the lander looks in your browser, and click around just like your visitors would, to make sure everything performs as it should (e.g. spinning wheels spin properly, survey questions will proceed to the next question when clicked on....)

You WILL need to learn some coding, so do go through some online courses (like I've advised in the tutorial). Do that first, then follow my advice on how to fix the common errors, then check the lander again in your browser and click around to make sure it functions correctly, and if you find additional things to fix, fix them in the code.

There's no straight-forward way to learn how to fix up landers - you'll just need to learn the basics from online courses first, then learn more by actually fixing landers. I've spent countless hours fixing up my first few landers when I was a newbie. It will get easier. But in the beginning, we must be patient.

When it doubt, do trial-and-error: Make a change in the code and then browse to the page to see if you broke anything, or if anything changed. I've done that so many times and learned so much from this process. It's kinda brute-forcing, but it works, especially for people that are weak in the tech department like myself.

Going through a beginner's course to learn the basics should be a good start! After that, just keep ripping and fixing up landers, and whenever you don't understand something, do a search on that particular function/syntax to learn enough to solve that particular problem.

For unzipping files, winzip or 7zip should do.
