Received warning about Adult traffic coming from PropellerAds - suggestions..?
Hello,
I thought PropellerAds are not supposed to send adult traffic,
Mobidea support contacted me today since they found adult traffic coming in and ask to remove them right away..
Anyone has experienced the same thing? I'm contacting PropellerAds now to ask about this still hoping they can reply to this soon since it seems urgent (Mobidea strictly prohibit the traffic). I'm a newbie following Amy's First 40 days at the moment - which is Great.
Cheers!

Hi there!
Well, we have some offers for Adult traffic, and some for Mainstream. Check again the restrictions of the offer you are running, and if Adult is not allowed there - you should definitely pause your campaign until you get this issue solved.
In PropellersAds' Terms and Conditions they clearly state that no Adult traffic is allowed, so this has to be a mistake. It's good that you are contacting them - the best way to know what is happening. Explain them all the details, and ask to check which websites are providing Adult traffic, as it's not supposed to happen.
Hope it won't take too long!
In the future make sure to use Website_ID tokens in your postback, so that you can track from which exact websites does the traffic come.
P.S. Just in case they don't reply, here is the contact of their representative on STM -

This happens from time to time ... it's the way it works, some part of pops comes from adult sites ... shady site owners are doing this in order to inflate their numbers a bit. There is also a lot of reselling going on in the background of the POPs biz, so sometimes it's too much of a mess and things like these happen.
The best you can do is really try to identify where the adult traffic came from and block that pubs.

Question for Mobidea: How are you guys detecting the adult traffic? Would it help if the affiliate pass the zone IDs to Mobidea via an offer link token? Would you be able to tell them which zone IDs are sending the adult traffic?
Would be good for the affiliate to notify PropellerAds then so they could look into the publisher and ban them if necessary.

Hi Amy!
Sorry, saw it just now.
Of course it's possible for affiliates to send the zone/website ids to Mobidea, although unfortunately they would need to check by themselves from which zone does the adult traffic come. We can't really see the concrete source.

Yes this happened to me also. I sent them a screen shot and they said they would stop it.

I had the same thing happen.
After talking with Mobidea staff and digging further, we found that out of the approximately 7,000 clicks I've sent at the time, only 11 came from adult sources. So we agreed that it was a non-issue and we'd revisit the situation, if the adult traffic percentage increased.
From my own investigations, although the 11 clicks were spread out over 3-4 adult domains, they all had the same IP address. So I suspect it was some type of campaign spying operation.
I hope this helps.

Yup, could have been some kind of bot too ... it's nice to hear that they were reasonable enough to not make a huge problem out of a minor thing.
