Is there some magic trick to getting Dating Ads Approved?

Man...I've been running everything I can, which only seems like games get through, and I want to do dating, but I have not once been able to get even the mildest of dating ads approved. I'm choosing single option, no crazy language, nothing...

I'm seeing less and less dating ads it seems too...but if you can run them, I just want to know what the magic trick is?

Anyone?

Thanks in advance...

Hahaha I wish.

I've been trying to get a set of 50 ads approved for about a week straight now.

To actually help though: make sure your ads have everything Facebook want. Once I spent about a week trying to get through some dating ads without realizing I'd forgotten to put the name of the offer in the ad text. As soon as I fixed it up, approved them all on the first go.

You have to put the actual name of the offer in the ad text?

Yeah, for dating ads you do.

What if you are using a landing page? Still need the offer name in the ad copy?

Yes. If you don't mention a dating service name you're unlikely to get through, period. It's stated pretty explicitly in the advert guidelines.

Cool thanks. I havent run any dating yet on fb but was about to give it a shot soon.

Make sure to check the dating page against MyWoT to see if it's flagged red, they seem to disapprove any red ones unless you have a landing page in between - and even then they are likely to disapprove eventually.

Most of the various be2 offers are clean enough rated on WoT to fly through direct linked.

I think be2 is already red

It's already at the edge. Only thing matters is the time, before it goes to RED.

So I URGE you guys, those who are running Be2 offers on Facebook direct linking or WITHOUT cloaking, it is time to BACK UP your asses!

Trust me, and I MEAN it.

FB just banned one of my main accounts and I have to say, I am badly hurt.

the trick = persistence

I've had trouble myself getting dating offers approved too

I agree with kokofai. I think ppchound has also been saying this for a long time - and I ignored this good advice until I got an account disapproved, I believe it was killed off because of a be2 ZA offer that had a red lander - ads I had run for over a week, then suddenly the plug was pulled. There are A LOT of red be2 offers. You can't assume that a tame offer means FB love. Use WOT add-on tool and recheck your running offers occasionally to avoid costly surprises.

Holy shit... Thanks for reminding dieter! A lot of Be2 offers are actually in RED now! Man that's the cleanest dating offer I could find to cloak to...

I guess I shall wait for them to set up a new site on dating... Sigh

a girl i met a few years ago at a marketing conference works at FB now.... here's what she sent me regarding dating offers (i'm in the dating niche, but pick up girls/online dating stuff)

Yeah I thought you'd have some dating stuff out there.

Unfortunately the dating niche is stricter on fb than weight loss but way back I worked with eHarmony on their fb strategy so I do have a lot of tips for you on how to run dating ads without pissing off policy and standing out from the crap.

So the main thing is your targeting. you MUST target females who are single interested in men, or men who are single interested in females, etc. you can't just do females who are single, you'll keep getting ads disapproved otherwise. The targeting always needs to include single as a relationship status too.

for other targeting attributes you can use them but you can't call them out in the copy unless it is a specific niche thing. so you could target single women in new york with an ad saying 'single in nyc?' if you run a new york only dating site but if your service/product is for sale to the general population then you can't call out nyc. the same goes for interests, if you hve a dating site for people interested in say tennis then it's cool to say it but it will get disapproved if you call it out for a general dating product.

here's how to get around that - use subtle hints in the images. If you're targeting women in nyc, but familiar things in the images, so a happy couple in central park, a woman at the top of the empire state building' or thing that conjure up nyc and that they'll recognize. Same with interests, if you want to target women that like tennis looking for a guy with a similar interest then put a tennis ball behind a cute guy in the image.

success stories do really well in the copy too so any testimonials you have will be great to use.

hope this is helpful!

hope that helps guys.

That is some great info, @dconstrukt -- and the fact is, is that it works, and well. When I used to run dating on FB, I would use a similar approach for example targeting men in NY who "liked" the Yankees. I wouldn't call it out in my ad text (because the ad would be disapproved), but the image would be girls wearing Yankee's jerseys (and this would get thru just about every single time). This can be spread to just about any sports team, interest, etc. Again, that is some great work-able info dconstruckt...

anytime... she works at FB so i'd like to think she knows wtf sh'es talking about.... she wont fucking respond to my last few emails which sucks... i had more questions!

i had no luck with my dating offer on FB.... couldn't get anything approved.... so i'm using POF. my weight loss accounts got nuked 2 x so we're done with FB, unless someone knows how to get on and use it without any issues. I'd love to get my dating offer rolling on FB.... could kill it.

But using different angles and calling them out in non-dating ads is allowed right? Or at least they don't bother us for this, yet

I wonder if they would still allow it in dating ads if you use a niche landing page like the one “punk” related by groomez.

When I ran dating I used a similar strategy, however I *did* call out the niche in the copy in a somewhat sneaky way. Example:

Targeting men who are interested in rock music:
"Like Girls who ROCK?"

See what I mean?

Super Tip:
Make sure the tracking link you use is not banned. Let's say a mailer went ahead and mailed on the same link as you are promoting and got a listing on spam cop, for whatever reason FB gets that report in real time and then bans the domain. (I learned this the hard way last year)

What about webistes that haven't got any rankings on mywot yet (they are not red flagged) ? I'm using a dating website without mywot rankings to cloack.
One time they approve all ads, headshots, and other 9 times they disaprove the exact same ads or they disaprove 99 of the 100 ads. What the hell. And it's only getting worse
