Like the topic says... and besides ecommerce Shopify and building your own list
Solar/Insurance/Finance leadgen.... etc. Any other verticals are good for FB?

You can also run ecommerce offers from affiliate networks. You can basically promote products in a similar style that you would do with Shopify but without having to build your own Shopify store. Of course, you lose some of the advantages too, but I certainly find it a more than viable way to learn WH FB ads.

eCommerce, Travel, Software solutions Big well known brands (not "win an iPhone") also should be fine.

Offers that provide user value to Facebook users.

I have been wondering the exact same thing but more about method as well - If you have a very clean offer - something like a truly useful ecommerce offer that is great but you cannot direct link i am assuming, especially if using a tracker, correct?

so you would probably create a desktop style funnel or a blog type page and then do email lists from there?

I haven't had issues when using a tracking link provided by an affiliate network. It might be an items on a checklist but if it's legit, you should be OK.

I also doubt Voluum or any other tracker link would get your account banned as a default. There will probably be more things that FB looks at. Voluum specifically disabled certain features for people who run FB campaigns because FB didn't allow them, so I am pretty sure Voluum wants to be used with FB and is doing everything to be considered OK by the FB team. Worth asking support or maybe they jump in this thread and explain exactly what FB likes and dislikes about Voluum links.

Putting a voluum link in FB could be a reason to be banned. On the other hand I've been running with direct aff links without a problem. Best to use a clean domain/lander indeed with a small/simple re-direct to the shop. Could be even a simple "loading" page sometimes or 1-click button.

Games are decent as a vertical too, although my impression (I haven't run games for a while) is that there aren't a lot of strong games-related offers out there right now.

Hey Manu - which networks have good ecom offers?

GiddyUp have some exclusives so they are pretty nice. Then A4D and Software Projects should have some options. I haven't worked enough with any of them to really give a more in depth opinion so only know they have white hat ecommerce offers.

What if you use a custom domain on Voluum, that only you use?

I've also been direct linking affiliate links and haven't had an issue so far because of it.

I prefer to work with static domains, without any parameters or variables in the link. I've seen some issues because of that, but like I said, had very good experience with your setup too indeed.

I was also thinking maybe there are other social traffic sources that are more lenient possibly? Maybe way less volume and targeting but high quality traffic?

Sure there are! The thing is that Facebook is the most efficient, and it has the best targeting.
Besides there's Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest... there are some other more specific for particular GEOs (like VK.com in Russia)..

What other whitehat verticals are good to be ran?
What about those type of leadgen for mortgage/harp/solar/insurance?

Leadgen can work well. The trick there is targeting: leadgen works best on intent-based search, rather than interruption-based sources, so you have to get quite clever with your FB targeting to get good results.

Here's the bible for (whitehat) advertising on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/policies/ads

I really recommend all affilaites to take the time to read this from A to Z. It helps you to understand how facebook thinks and works.
