Advice On Scaling To A Different Traffic Source? (4)
So lets say after a bunch of testing on "Traffic Source A" you have a banner/lander/offer combo that is working well, so now it's time to scale.
So rather than porting the exact funnel to "Traffic Source B", do you think it's worth it to maybe take a couple of days to run some tests to find the "best funnel" for Traffic Source B?
Im not talking about changing the offer or type of landing page (major changes), but rather testing things like headlines/lp images (smaller changes) to perhaps find the optimal funnel?
The idea I guess is that "Traffic Source A" and "Traffic Source B" likely have different audiences that may respond differently to creatives.
Oh and when I say traffic source Im talking about say moving from Traffic Junky to Exoclick (not necessarily site to site), or perhaps from a large site to another large site (ie Pornhub to Xhamster or somethin)
Thus maybe it would be more profitable in the long-run to do some tests before?
Im guessing with a more or less optimized winning funnel, doing these test will likely only result in a break-even to small-loss anyway.
Or should I just port the winning funnel and only run tests if it doesn't perform well?
That's the 1M dollar question, Its hard to say because you can lose time and money if you try other source but maybe another source can perform much better,
my opinion is always to try new ones, you need to spend in order to gain more, try more another source I am sure you will find one who will be profitable as well
The funnel will almost certainly perform differently, but it would be a HUGE mistake to NOT test it on a new source. You've spend $$$ on tweaking the funnel so make sure you make use of it to it's fullest potential.
You know the funnel is solid, so even if it doesn't perform that good, you can use it as a benchmark and try to make things work better.
Of course you will have to make new tests after some time, the funnel will die sooner or later anyways, but definitely DO test it.
Traffic from exo generally works worse with dating, compared to TJ. It's one of the most complicated network to work with in dating ... at least such is my experience. Stay away from running full RON if possible.
When ready to scale from source A to source B, besides porting the tested funnel to the new source, I would have tested both of them with new stuff.
By this I mean, if I've run funnel X (the winner) for about 2-3 weeks in source A and after continuous optimizing the source starts to somehow lower it's performance, introducing new creatives/lander/offer to that source may help. This way the visitors of the sites where your ads are being server will get fresh content for which they might have more interest.
For source B, getting an insight from spy tools on what is currently working there might help, so you start with the tested funnel as well as tested stuff and offers as seen from spy tools.
