13k to ? (4)

13k to ?

I started on October 1st.

I have a bankroll of 13k.

I'm doing T1 FB traffic and free trial CC submits. (This goes against what some recommend on here, but I've decided to try this first. I have lots of copywriting experience, and I know the basics of CPA/tracking already.)

Since then I've built and tested 3 campaigns.

Campaign 1: Had no idea what I was doing. Had good CTR, but LP was trash... was asking for optin, then redirecting to advertorial, and my email funnel was trash... just a mess. After thinking about it I scrapped this campaign because it was all over the place. However, I learned that the audience can provide cheap clicks. Was happy with my first attempt.

Campaign 2: Built an expansive email funnel for a weight loss niche... only to discover I couldn't get email optins at all. Wasted 1.5 weeks. Lesson learned: stop building out f*cking email funnels before you have the basics down.

Now I decided to switch to ad -> LP -> offer path, as email funnels were just an unknown variable.

Campaign 3: Good ad CTR (very encouraging), OK CTR on LP. However, there was only 1 offer I could promote, and my audience was younger, which was leading me to question conversion potential. Scrapped it, but learned some good stuff.

Campaign 4: Mainstream offer with plenty of alternatives, and a mainstream audience. Waiting on this to get approved or denied by FB now (think it will get approved - got similar ad approved for campaign #2, even though it was a flop). Have 4 other angles ready to go with different audiences for this same offer - just waiting on approval for first ad before I build them out. (Not keen on wasting more time than I need to, as I learned with campaign #2.)

Will post updates here - starting with if my campaign is approved/rejected tomorrow.

Nice attempts! The more you test, the more you'll find out what works and what doesn't.

The offer itself is important as well, so be careful about dismissing the method when it could be because the offer was a dud.

Are you good at tech and coding? If so, you can combine email with offer: Capture visitor name, phone number and email, send these leads to COD offers via API (this is where the programming comes in), then advertise to the list. Ideally the COD offers should break even or better, leaving whatever you make on the email list a bonus profit.

Looking forward to further updates! I don't know too much about FB, but will be following along to learn what's possible!

In case anyone is curious, I decided to drop affiliate stuff and move into e-commerce. I'm good at writing copy but I come from an SEO background and my specialty is keyword research. Seemed like my skillset is better used doing that (rather than competing with skilled affiliates in the limited number of niches available to affiliates), and I like not having to rely on advertisers and networks, and I like the whitehat approach better. Right now I'm setting up my first shop and I feel much more confident in this than I ever did with the affiliate stuff I was trying.

E-commerce is very popular right now, there is still a lot of opportunity in the e-comm space. It's a bit more complex approach than running CPA campaigns, but it can also last longer, if executed correctly. Definitely let us know how it goes!
