We're coming up to a whole bunch of holidays just now - so remember that when you're looking at products and copy!
Now's a great time to start breaking out the "need a gift for X person?" copy.
Remember that this is a time when a whole lot of people suddenly need to cook large meals and entertain people, too!
And of course holiday-specific products are worth a try. Remember they'll have a short lifespan, so probably only worth a minimal test, but if they catch fire for a week or so that can still make you a fair pile of money!
Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, New Year, Chinese New Year, Valentine's Day - that's a whole lot of seasonal events in a short space of time, some of which come with attached easy targeting!
Happy eComm season everyone!
I have a friend who is running a toy e-shop, like regular toys for for kids. Every year around this time (end of oct, beginning of nov) the season starts for him and it can get crazy. When he was starting, he had weeks when he had to shut down the order for, cause he wasn't able to fill the orders as it was just him and wife taking care of it ...
It's not the same in all GEOs, but many countries in the post-communist block get crazy during the Christmas season - it goes back to history, while the countries were still under the influence of Soviet Union, everyone was rather poor, access to goods was very limited too ... but everyone wanted to have a good time at least once a year, during Christmas. And it's still in the mind of people, thousands and thousands of people in these countries take loans just to buy expensive gifts for their loved ones ... shop owners report massive increases in sales during the season.
So in case you are targeting Geos like my own country Slovakia or other countries in the region like Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria ... the "harvest" is about to begin for you
Haven't tested this myself yet, but I think it would be interesting to test the "Treat yourself to X" this Christmas.
We have several bonus programs from vendors and don't mind spending some of that towards more expensive things.
Lots of people get their year-end bonuses as well and I am pretty sure there are plenty who just need that little nudge to buy the thing they fancied for a long time and now get permission to buy (though smart copy).
Then after Christmas would be the time to push New Year Resolution related products:

Health improvement / weight loss are way up there, occupying the first few spots. Lots and lots of products in this niche.

Great tips all around here!
Another one: remember that traffic prices drop like crazy in January as all the big retailers turn off the money afterburners. So if you've had campaigns that were borderline profitable in Oct/Nov/Dec, try running 'em again in Jan - I've seen click prices halve from Dec -> Jan in the past.
I've already seen Advent Calendars in Vienna, and it's not even freaking November! 'Tis the season!
Most retailers make the bulk of their profits in December. If you are new to ecom, it can be hard to appreciate just how big that month can be.
On the downside, however, advertising also becomes a lot more expensive, so you need to plan your strategy well.
Another seasonal trend I observed year after year ... traffic goes down at the end of December, but the first 2 months of January are always way above the average. Not sure if it's the case with all niches and verticals, but for example in adult, it's the case every single year
If you want ecommerce campaigns, we have a lot of them!
November is definitely THE ecommerce month of the year.
Singles Day – November 11th
17.8$ billion spend in 24 hours (out of which 12$ billion just on Aliexpress)
Black Friday (November 24th); Cyber Monday (November 27th)
154 million customers, 290$ average order value
First two weeks of december are also still good for ecomm, especially christmas related products e.g. calendars sell like nuts!
Then its game over until the beginning of January when it all starts again.
