I need help! Facebook & 2Checkout issues

Hello everyone!

I'm a complete newby in ecommerce. Following the cookbook, I have chosen a niche that I'm passionate about and created my first Shopify store. I'm going to sell dachshund supplies and souvenirs/homeware/clothes for dachshund owners. I installed Oberlo and imported about 30 items from AliExpress. So I had just to connect payment provider and get started.

For my location, the Shopify offers only two payment providers 2Checkout and Realex. I chose 2Checkout because Realex seems to me a bit complicated. Along with that, I set up a business account on Facebook and, following the instructions, created campaign, adsets and adverts. 2Checkout declined my application. And Facebook disabled my ad account. In both cases, the reasons are unclear.

Could anyone tell me what I did wrong? And how can I fix the problems?

Thanks

I have no help to offer as I'm a couple steps behind you in the exact same process but you mention your location and I'm curious. Where is it that you're located and have less options?

Could you mention country? No easy answer but at least we could give some clearer suggestions then.

I stay in Russia

Sorry to say, but that is likely the issue.

I'd get in touch with 2checkout and explain what you want to do and ask what they need to apporve your account.
Try the same for Facebook

Alternatively, set up a woocommerce site, choose another payment processor and do it that way

I can't give input on payment methods for Russia unfortunately.

When it comes to Facebook, did you ever have another ad account banned? Did you ever run ads before? Was it personal ad account or business manager ad account?

Generally Russia should be considered as a risk by Facebook, so you have to be extra careful usually. Which is unfortunate, but it's reality of the situation with Facebook. Everyone runs into such issues even when they are running white hat. The main difference is that if you did nothing wrong you have a chance at getting the ad account back.

Thank you guys for your replies.

I never had another ad account at all, this is first. It was business manager ad account. Yesterday I contacted support and got the answer 'We don't support ads for your business model'. I don't know what they meant but today my account was reactivated. I can't see any logic. However I'd like to show my ad here to avoid further troubles:

What's wrong here?

As for 2Checkout they didn't answer at all. But I learnt I have to set up a company to have my account approved. Also I can buy a cypriot company and have even more options choosing a payment processor. If anyone here has such experience I will be very appreciated for your comments!

While we are at it this is link to the shop http://lovemywiener.com
Any comments are welcome.

Well, the problem might be with the word "wiener". Lovemywiener.com could just as well be a porn site

It;s just that there is more than one meaning to this..

Hahaha, couldn't help but laugh, and it's likely this. I once had an ad rejected because we had some credit card holder *like* a pocket knife, and they said no weapons allowed.

As for company, Cyprus sounds like a decent option for you - would also suggest looking into Estonian e-residency and comparing the 2.

Great domain I must say!

Try to find or make photo's of the products on a fancy table or such, instead of the standard webshop photo's.
Order all your products once and photograph them all in unique settings, this will make the difference on FB to reach a low cpc :-)

Oh... Funny stuff. I should have added word 'dog'. So you suggest to change domain name and logo as well?

Haha. I got a solid chuckle, but yea, the word wiener may be the issue here.

In other news, I'm kinda amazed lovemywiener.com was available....

On a side note, I'm headed to work in a few so I haven't had time to totally check out the shop but I'm digging the idea. I'm currently in the process of putting together a similar one for Siberian Huskies (as a dog sled guide for several years they're pretty near to my heart). Will post up a follow along/review my site thread once I get it a bit more established.

Well....I personally dig it, but my sense of humor is pretty dark so it doesn't phase me (and actually makes me like your shop even more). That said, I can't really take a guess as to whether it helps or hurts to your market. Almost seems like something that would be worth split testing.

Pros - If people have a sense of humor, they'll love it.

Cons - If people don't, they may be turned off. Also, if the name is getting ads taken down/accounts blocked it probably isn't worth it.

I think people will like it - just Facebook had an automatic flag triggered there.

If you have the patience and nerves, you can try to talk to someone at Facebook explaining your site, and why you think it should be allowed.

You can also make the "love my wiener" name more of a motto I guess? That way you might server both sides. As funny as we might find it, what matters is if it helps with bringing in customers

Yes, don't change the domain name - it's great.

Just because Facebook has an issue with it, doesn't mean your customers will.

Plenty of stuff you can do with this outside of Facebook, so don't let their "No" (for now) get you off track

Thank you guys for the wonderful mood! It made my day Maybe I can make some money in adult business with this domain name

And now to be serious, I still like the name.

Unfortunately, I can't make any photos of items for now. I will certainly do it if I ever launch the store.

In its current form, domain name aside, are there any other complaints about this ad?
