For international ads, how do facebook ad reviewers check to see if the ad is legit or not. For example, they don't have a reviewer for every different speaking country which means they have a way to know if the ad is legit or not.
I know facebook has HQ's in different parts of the world, and there are reviewers that speak that language, but there are lots of other languages that I bet many reviewers don't speak.
Do they use some type of translation or how do they know if the ad follows their TOS?
For example, I might be targeting Kenya, but I use a whole different language such as Spanish. Will they still approve that?
Or just in gerneral. Anyone know?
Hell if I know. Google translate? They probably just check the URL against MyWoT.
Provided your network/advertiser doesn't burn you for it. But I think FB is reasonably on to it with offers they see and decline all the time, e.g. True.com, doubt you could iFrame that as most reviewers will recognise it full stop. And then that won't look good for you, might get flag put on account indicating you try to sneak through red-rated destination URLs.
I get the feeling FB cares about English speaking country ads and are relatively unconcerned with international/foreign stuff. You could probably get ad copy like "Are you fat?" and "Click here fatty" through in Turkish, lol.
I guess no one can answer your question unless someone who previously worked in the international FB ad approval team has spotted this HUGE opportunity in affiliate marketing and he/she found out about STM and he/she saw this thread and reply here.
I used to be easier....but lately alot of non English creatives take longer to get approved due to the fact they are getting most ads translated and in the bigger countries they have a team it goes through that handles that language....I have seen 36 hr + delays in getting ads live in some countries sometimes...
I guess it also depends on what content you are trying to promote. A dating ad in a foreign language is more likely to get translated by the reviewer than a charity ad. So make your ad look as innocent as possible.
I'm doing mainly international gaming so they probably just go to the lander and then click approved ;D
I have had some long delays recently though, as in 30+ hours.
I have been running ads in Europe and both English and non-English language ads are taking about 12 hours for approval. I kept trying to get info out of the FB rep I was talking to, but she would "selectively" respond.
