Anbody notice CPM's skyrocket in September?
My cost per result has doubled in the month of September and I can see that it is mainly due to CPM's skyrocketing. I am guessing it is due to the time of the year having higher CPM's or perhaps overtime, my ads are getting saturated or have a lower relevance score.
Anybody have tips to deal with this?
Yes, it's happening to most people. It's probably because it's the end of the quarter, big fish are racing to finish their marketing budgets. It should improve in October. It could also have to do with the changes Facebook introduced to their algo in September. Somehow some people are still getting good CPMs though. So I'd try duplicating ad sets and see if that gives a better CPM, but don't take out the original ones, just in case. You might also need to duplicate them again anyways in October to get the corrected CPM if yours don't correct.
We found the CPM has increased a lot since mid Sep, in every location.
And I dont think its because of those big fish, we never see this situation in past, anyone has a clue?
oh yes we run whitehat campaigns btw.
ya ive tried duplicating campaigns, but that doesnt really seem to work anymore. I wonder if our domains or accounts were hit with a low "score" which is causing the CPM's to skyrocket. I am thinking about trying a brand new account or changing domains to see if that helps, but before i do that, has anybody tried this?
Something like this?
- more and more serious competition, every year it's growing
- end of year budgets
- algorhytm updates Facebook, redesigning the feeds (ads vs organic more balanced)
- FB ads are getting more and more saturated in general, people become more cleaver and irritated in general
- overall image of FB, becoming a commercial tool is growing more and more, also with consumers
and probably we are missing stuff we don't know about....
