There are many different discussions on what's the most important factor in
I've ran a few "hot" products and got a few sales, but they were never consistent.. I was just jumping from product to product... all in different niches, pets, survival, make up, etc
I have a feeling if I continue like this... I would just be out everyday chasing the new hot product and fighting with all the big stores with their mature pixels... they large budgets... their custom audiences
Which leads me to move towards this direction.... after I read the Cookbook again and again.. I know I have to build my own audience who I can sell to, over and over
Here comes my question... how do I start building this audience?
the cookbook shows how to find your niche and audience, but it doesn't really say how to build it up, such that the audience will treat you like an authority
Any ideas?
I have done this many times, but not with ads. Although you could use ads.
Before we move on though, there will still be a difference between people likely to do X and people who bought Y.
Ideally, you have an audience with a lot of people who buy.
Failing that, you move up one step higher in the funnel and build your audience of people who do Y (look at one of your videos, download an ebook in exchange for an email, etc).
So how do you move forward?
Figure out what buyers actually care about.
Example: https://www.amazon.com/Containment-F...rds=dog+collar
Or in other words, a $1300 dog fence...
and look, over 300 answered questions: https://www.amazon.com/Containment-F...dog+collar#Ask
Now how hard would it be to compile a guide that's called:"Happy dog, happy owner - the ultimate buyer's guide for electric dog fences" Subtitle - "50 tips and facts you want to know before buying"
I'd test a few titles, but this is just a quick example
Now, rewrite (tip: outsource) enough questions and do 53. 50 for the ebook, 3 for the email follow up.
Create an ad and a lander, as well as a follow up sequence that ends in an offer to buy the fence you want them to buy.
Now, you have multiple angels you can use:
- set up a campaign in Facebook
- set up a campaign in google (adwords)
- reach out to relevant blogs and sites and ask them how they can help you promote (guest post, review, shout out, ad)
Plus, you'll be creating a LLA, creating your own email list and getting sales if all goes well.
You can take this a lot further, but this should get you started.
This is just one idea. Another approach that works well is making a video, but that works best if you have the actual product.
Make a "top 5 questions answered" video and do that over and over again. Do an unboxing as well.
Before you know it, you're an authority and get more questions than you can handle (believe me, have done this multiple times for a total of more than 2 million views for very niche products)
Hope this helps and keep us updated!
