Hi STMers,
Im a newbie to the forum, currently trying to apply to multiple AF Networks to get access to offers, ect.
My situation is a little a little bit odd as I am a no-resident for tax reasons of my home country, I have been working in the oil and gas industry over SEA over the past 10 years using Thailand as a base but dont have a company in Thailand.
So my question is could I do all of my affiliate business with/through my wife? as she has a tax residency in her country of birth.
My next query is would this be an issue with the affiliate network and or the affiliate manager? This situation would just be temporary while learning the ropes, later down the road either forming a company in Austraila (possibly returning home) or registering a company in Singapore if we stay in Aisa. (if I can make a living online)
Anyones experiences would be greatly appreciated in this situation.
I have previously research doing business with my wife with the Amazon FBA model and this setup was possible.
Now I will be dealing with multiple networks and advertisers, and I want to make the application and payment side of the business as clear as possible.
Thanks in advance

Possible, yep. A few drawbacks to it though.
You need to build up trust, and I'd say this hinders it a little. Why would you not be able to just do this under your name if you are a no-resident? You don't need a company to sign up to networks. It's usually helpful to have a company but not a must.
Aside from that, there's no reason why you can't sign up under your wife's name and then explain to the networks you work together - easier and more common explanation instead of saying tax reasons, haha
You can even sign up under your name and have everything billed under your wife's name for some affiliate networks and traffic sources; that means contact person and billing person are different. Even in my case, I am the contact person but the billing person/company is my company.
Thanks for the suggestion manu_adefy,
The idea of simply using my wife's details for billing and payouts will probably be the best solution until we choose a country of residence, and create a business.
I don't want to start on the wrong foot with the Affiliate networks in the industry.
I really appreciate you taking the time out of your day to answer my question and putting me back on track, now I have one less thing to think about and I can get back to learning and implementing.
Regards
Dan
Much appreciated Manu,
Its all slightly overwhelming at the moment, however, I have a budget of 4K USD that I am will to invest at this point.
If you wouldn't mind dropping in occasionally I have started a follow along thread, its very new and it may be like pulling teeth or watching paint dry for you, none the less I would appreciate your input further down the road.

I am currently in Bangkok for another 2 months studying a digital marketing course, hopefully, by the end of the course, I will have a better idea for what its take to get campaigns up and running, plus moved on the FB and Adwords. I am considering the possibility of reaching out to someone in Thailand (?) to pay for consulting once I get past all the newby stages and have some skin in the game.
Thanks a million
Dan
Sure thing! I think you are in a great place - both in terms of STM, and Bangkok. There's a significant affiliate marketing community there that will be able to help you out, for sure.
I would even suggest just connecting with them, seeing what you learn without actually paying for formal consulting and take it from there. Did you already connect to people there? If I'm not mistaken, this is something brought up to you before, right?
Hey bro,
Met a couple of guys, everyone was nice but I caught a dose of imposter syndrome and retreated back to my dungeon to learn more and put some work in the game before hassling people with the basics.
I should get back out there and rub shoulders with some of the guys and gals. Maybe next week, when I have some shit to chat about.
Once again, Thanks.
Dan
You don’t need a company, but it certainly looks more legit.
If you get a personal account at Bangkok bank, you can use their London and New York branches to get money wired to you. Looks a lot more legit for the first few payments
Check out the Estonia e-residency. You’d need to pick up the card from Singapore, but you can get a European company up and running pretty quickly this way.
A Nevis company with banking offshore (euro pacific bank for example is a solid option. Plenty of company can setup, for example goccp.com
