Newbie needs advice

So I followed Amy's 1st lesson for newbies and got a conversion out of it, there are some things interesting happened and here are my questions

1) the number of visits are different across different platforms, 1741 on Voluum, 1856 on PropellerAds and 1663 on Mobidea, is this normal?

2) Voluum seems like a really powerful tool, but on my panel, anything cost-related is not showing such as CPC, CPV etc. How do I make them there?

3) There was one conversion out of these impressions, the payout was $1.05 with a cost of $4.32 for paid traffic, is this a sign of a good offer? Should I dig deeper and try to optimize it? Or it is not good enough and I should move on?

Any help is highly appreciated!

From the traffic source to your tracker there is always a click-loss, and its around 10%, in your case your click-loss from Propeller to Voluum is 6%, so its normal.

For the cpc to be tracked in automatic in Voluum you will need the cost token offered by the traffic source, and in this case there is none since propeller doesnt offer that. You will need to upload the costs manually for propeller.

One conversion doesnt tell much but you didnt spend much also. My opinion is to keep running the offer and also try different angles.

Hey!

Could you please tell us which ad format are you using, and if you use direct linking? In case if you are running pop, the difference of visits can be explained by the fact that while the page is loading a user closes the window, and doesn't appear at a final offer's page. Therefore Mobidea doesn't count it.

Plus, check again your tracking settings.

After cutting placements following Amy's lessons, I just got a conversion after spending only $1.33, it is very close to profit now! I'm so excited! Wow! This stuff really works! Thank you!

Hey Duiyao.

Looks like we are currently in a similar position.
I followed the same guide as you and set up my first campaign today:
https://stmforum.com/forum/showthrea...-ever-Campaign!!!!!

Wondering if you think it may be worth while bouncing any queries or questions off of each other since we are at a similar stage and try to work this through together?

Let me know if you fancy it.

Best,
Marc

I have bought $40 worth of traffic and only had 5 conversions, should I keep it running or try new offers?

I tried cutting placements that spent 2X the payout without converting, but then the traffic came in much slower, is this normal?

Thanks! guys.

Apparently by cutting websites you will receive less traffic, so yes this is normal.

Don't forget to check other parameters such as OS, devices, browsers, etc.
Also you can think of what you can improve on your banners to increase your CTR.

Generally speaking, try to see which other parameters it's possible to improve, and if you can't find any - consider stopping this campaign and moving forward to another one.

Once again - Mobidea to the rescue!

It would also help to post some stats, especially placement/zone stats. If you do post these, please post 2 versions: Sorted in decreasing conversions, and by decreasing impressions.

Basically what we'd be looking for, is whether there are enough green placements or green-hopeful placements to justify continue running and cutting the unprofitable placements.

The same applies to any other traffic segments - OSs, carriers, browsers, devices....if you have any green segments or potentially-green segments, then it would be worth it to keep investing into cutting the unprofitable stuff.

If however it's apparent that you don't have enough green segments/placements - then no amount of cutting will result in profits. One common newbie mistake is trying to cut one's way to green when there's no green (or not enough of it) in the first place. Getting rid of carts full of dirt will not get you anywhere unless there's gold in there somewhere in the first place.
