Adplexity Search Result Is Different From The Landing Page

Hi,

I tried to copy a landing page for the outgoing site (nationalopinionsurvey.com) on Adplexity, but after clicking a result it seems the landing page is different from what the result is.

Here's what I did.

1. Search for nationalopinionsurvey.com and click Walmart Gift Card. See screenshot below:

4. After that, this is the series of screens I saw on my browser. I'm just using Google Chrome mobile emulator. And of course, I open the link using VPN as if I am in US.

As you can see, Adplexity show Wallmart Gift card but the landing page end up to Amazon Gift card.

Is this normal?

Additionally, when I download the landing page, Windows Defender detected a virus as show image:

I already download the landing page by turning off the antivirus. My question is if this is still safe to use? Adplexity recommends to check javascript file if there's something embedded like an "eval" code. I know how to remove it if there's any code encoded in the javascript. But there's none.

Hey there, it looks like this specific advertiser is split testing different LPs. And you can see that from the redirect chain, that has more than one path (as you can see from the screenshot).

The second one is the Walmart LP path. And adlexity shows as a screenshot of the LP, the one that is getting more traffic. So the Walmart LP should have a bigger weight on the whole funnel.

About the windows defender alert: you should disable that when you download LPs cause it detects the JS codes as malicious (mostly cause of the back button script). Just replace the java scripts with the official ones and you should be good to go.
