Missing impressions
I'm testing a few POP traffic sources in tier 3 countries and I've encountered a strange behavior. Only about 90% of impressions are getting tracked by Voluum, so it looks like that 10% of visitors don't even have a chance to see my landings/offers. It also seems that this is related to server latency or users' bandwidth - the longer it takes, the more users are getting lost. Even an extra 100ms delay can result in 3-4% difference. I have confirmed that on Clickadu and PropellerAds so far. I have also tested it with my own tracker hosted in the same country that I ran campaigns in, but even with <100ms response time, I still lose a lot of visitors.
What can I do about that and what could be causing it? Is that something that is covered by any kind of end user agreement?

Hello.
What you are seeing here is known as click-loss and it's very common with pop traffic.
10% is very low though to be honest, in some situations it's averaging around 20-30%.
There is nothing much you can do with it, if you are using a recommended hosting setups (ie. CDN) you already did best you can.
If you are seeing very high click-loss you can try to measure it by placement (you will need to consodilate your reports from tracker+traffic source) and find out placements that are doing the highest lost.
But I personally would not worry too much (10% is really nothing), rather focus on other metrics of your campaign (hint: profit is the most important here :-))

I just have to...

It's pretty much like Erik said. A common click-loss situation. Still, we're working on the count rate, placing our servers here and there.
However, you can contact our support team or your personal manager if the situation becomes awkward.

One thing to add to the already correct answers before - it sometimes is not even dependent just on the connection speed, but you might also have some of these custom browsers doing all sorts of proxy stuff which break connections sometimes.
In general, some clickloss is unavoidable unfortunately. On the flip side, it's usually accounted for in the price, at least more than you think at first. Without clickloss, your overall pricing would certainly go up so you should avoid the mindset that you aren't making things work purely because of clickloss.

Hi Erik,
Do you think that placements actually play a major factor in clickloss rates?
I find that most of my campaign's clickloss is primarily affected by very specific placements.
Just this morning I found a placement with 97% clickloss (about 3500
Voluum views vs 165,000 traffic source impressions)
Although this example is highly unusual and quite extreme, I regularly find placements with clickloss rates of 40%+
It's sometimes hard to notice, because despite some placements having extremely high clickloss rates, the overall campaign clickloss can be at about 15% - 25% (which some may consider acceptable, and wouldn't bother manually comparing each campaign's
Voluum/source stats) allowing these problematic placements to "float under the radar"

Yes, totally!
Some sites are just full of ads and garbage, trying to maximise their profits, but on the other side it sabotages us.
Also there are placements with lot of BOT traffic.
If the placement with huge click loss is not generating you any conversions or is having a huge NEGATIVE ROI I would be considering to BLOCK IT.
However be careful as some of these placements could be the biggest (volume wise), therefore once you block them you may also lost big chunk of your traffic.
Investigate and act accordingly.
