About smartlink
Today I discover the “smartlink”.
Yestarday I started a mobile campaign with 9 offers , Sweepstakes, Geo Philippines, all with payout $ 0,80, with Mobidea.
Until now I have 14 convertions , but in the Mobidea site I see my revenue is only $2.18, so I start to chat with support. The support explain to me about the existence of smartlink and how it work. I ask about how I know if an offer has smartlink, but the support answer that it’s not possible.
Really I can not know if an offer is smartlink?
When I set how much spend for traffic, I also based on payout, but if payout change so it is difficult to plan the cost of traffic.

What do you mean exactly?
If you run an offer, then all traffic will go to that offer. If you run a smartlink, then the aff network will detect the nature of your traffic (e.g. geo, carrier, OS, etc.) and send each visitor to the best-converting offer for that segment (geo+carrier+OS+etc.)
Please explain your question in more detail and I'll try to provide a better answer.

Hi Mark!
I would say these are the questions that the majority of affiliates ask us.
1. Why does the payout differ?
2. How can I know to which exact offer from the Smartlink did the conversion go.
As probably our Support Crew has told you, the offers inside of the Smartlink are rotating, and the process is not random - there is an algorithm behind it.
Since all the offers are different (different GEOs, categories, operators, OS, etc) your payout is not fixed. It will depend on the exact offer that appeared to the user.
Why can't you know for which offer inside the Smartlink did you receive a conversion? Because it takes time to track, and in the end the offer can be unavailable as a single offer. I believe, if you speak to support, they can tell you the best performing offer from the Smartlink, and if it's available as a Single offer, and matches your traffic, you can run only that one.
Why offers inside the Smartlink might be not available as a Single Offer? Because some advertisers providing the offer request it to be only inside the Smartlink. It's easy to exaplain - Smartlink doesn't give you much opportunity to create your own specific banners/lander for that offer, which gives advertiser more control over the way you promote their product. That's why they set the offer only in the Smartlink - this way you will have to use generic banners that could match the whole Smartlink.
What makes me more curious - why did you decide to work with the Smartlink?
This is an interesting option, but as anything else in affiliate marketing, it has to be used in specific cases. For instance, if you are running a website and have a lot of visitors from different countries - Smartlink lets you automatize the monetization process. OR you can use the Smartlink as a "backup" plan for those users that didn't convert with your specific offer.
So what's your case exactly?

Thanks for your answers Amy and Mobidea and sorry for my bad english.
Until yesterday I didn’t know nothing about smartlink, and maybe was a little confused.
Now, I think to understand how it working, but my question is simple:
When I choose an offer, there is a method to recognize if the offer is normal or smartlink?
Because I don’t want work with smartlink but only with offers. In the offer is explained that the offer is smartlink? how I do to know if the offer is a smartlink?
I hope to be a bit clear this time.

There are OFFERS and then there is a smartlink that ROTATES many offers. Some offers that the smartlink rotates can be promoted directly, but it's not possible with all. This was the case with all smartlink networks I tested.
There are multiple reasons for this :
- some advertisers just want to buy some traffic from them
- some offers are being tested before getting listed in the offers lists
- some offers prove to be poor
- some offers have low budgets
etc ...
so these networks only allow to promote the best performing, high budget, proven ... offers directly.
Speaking about
Mobidea specifically, they should be able to tell you if an offer that you are doing well with when using the smartlink, can also be promoted directly.

There are some benefit of smartlinks:
- don't have to use landing page
- no time for approve offers
- no effort to search good offers
If you able to target your traffic well you can find green combinations.
Another opportunity to get the good offers behind the green combination and start to promote that separately.

Kimia shows that for example, but keep in mind not all of their "products" can be promoted directly, so you will only see it in case of those that can. It's still worth a test.

Correct, you can see it directly on our stats system, and you always have an AM available should you have any questions. You can customize your own smartlink template using these offers. We also allow you to add external links to external offers that you feel migth work best for certain segments of your traffic, so basically we give you the info and the tools to setup your template with the top performing offers, inside and out of Kimia

We have the option to see the offers behind the smart link and optimize accordingly. For example if you see that Sweepstakes are doing the best for you, we can give you smartlink of only sweepstakes/ duplicate the best offer you run to other countries where you have lots of traffic.
As we have 10 years experience with smart links, we can tailor you the right smart link based on your traffic.
I am here for any questions. Skype: shay.fodor
